There, we were razzled and dazzled by an obviously prearranged fashion show displaying a variety of leather jackets for men and women. It was explained to us that they supply goods to famous luxury brands. Punto explained that they use a laser process to cut thin layers of leather from real hide. When concern was expressed about the durability of this thin leather, they claimed that there is a lifetime guarantee provided, we were not wise enough to ask for a written guarantee. A couple of years later, back in our country, this jacket was ripped , as seen in the photo. The rip was due to a flaw in the fabric and was not due to over use or age. We actually emailed Punto's customer service describing the issue which was returned as "undeliverable". Since we were oceans away, we had to wait until our return to Istanbul. Upon our visit to the same shop, they denied that their warranty has any validity and claimed that they could not find a similar colour leather. They only offered to sell us a jacket at what they claimed to be their "cost price". It was not as impressive as the jacket originally purchased. So we declined.
This shop caters to tourists who would possibly not be back to make any claim against their alleged warranty. They claimed that had we contacted them earlier they would have arranged to receive, repair and return the jacket to us. As stated above we could not make email contact from the purchase documentation we had.
We would never buy from this shop again and recommend the same to others.
