Wow!!! Rundetaarn is on the Top Ten must see list when in Copenhagen. What makes " Round Tower" so…read morespecial and intriguing? I'm glad you asked... With its distinctive spiral ramp, the Round Tower has become a Danish landmark. Here are some notable facts and points of interest: 1.The Hollow Core: the shape of the tower was Denmark's geographical zero point. 2. There is an Observatory which houses a telescope built in 1929. 3. The Library Hall is used for changing exhibits, cultural events and concerts 4. The Spiral Ramp will get you to 10,000 steps easily; it is the only way to the top of the tower and spins 7 1/2 times around the Tower's hollow core. Believe me, you feel those twists as you climb. 5. The Bell Loft is situated above the Library Hall and two floors above the Trinity Church where the bells have rung for hundreds of years. 6. The Platform: once you climb the narrow stairs you are atop and can see all of Copenhagen's charms and Sweden. During the summer there is a kiosk that sells sweet treats 7. The Planetarium: shows the solar system I highly recommend visiting Rundetaarn. It is located in Norreport; beautiful shops and restaurants. Polse: best hot dogs are served in this truck outside tower Rundetaarn is located on: Kobmagergarde 52 A 1150 København K Denmark Check out Rundetaarn.dk for more info

Plus, it was raining so a good way to wait it out while taking in the sights. You walk up a gentle spiral to get a nice view of the city. Along the way, there are rooms you can stop in for art exhibitions, a view of the actual church (there was service going on when we were there), random alcoves, refreshments, and even the toilet. The place is clean and it wasn't overly crowded when we went on a weekday in the afternoon. Because of the gentler slope, it's friendly for all ages. The view isn't very high, but it's still pretty good! There are little "benches" along the way - in case you do need to rest or plan the next stop of your day. A good place to stop by to get a view of the city!

Well organized shop filled floor to ceiling with cool prints. One half of the shop contains prints…read morein various sizes and the other half contains originals. I love the focus on local artists and the large selection of styles. I like that it's has both relatively affordable items (A4 poster prints are 90kr) and expensive originals. The shop assistants are super friendly and helpful, and will find specific posters or different sizes for you. If you're in the shop, it's easiest to browse the two little "file boxes" of A4 posters. Many of the posters come in larger than A4 sizes, but it's just easiest to browse through the A4 size. Price for posters is by size, and you can also frames at the shop. Their website is great, and probably the easiest way to view their selection.

Yes, I finally found a shop that specialize in those map art works that are found in just about…read moreevery other cafe in Cph! The Copenhagians might be rolling their eyes over these and their frequency in every home/cafe/restaurant, but as a foreigner who is about to leave town for a while (yes, I cry myself to sleep every night because of this), I think they are great souvenirs! The prints/posters are maps of famous, big cities around the world, but most are from our very own Copenhagen. Either the city itself or of certain areas. Since I have lived in both Amager and Østerbro, I decided to get those two. The prints come in many different sizes and colors, and you can also get them in simple frames. The prices are also decent, I think. The woman working there was very patient with my trouble to make a decision about which color and frame to get, etc. Kudos! Design wise, I think the images are clean and elegant. They could hang in almost any home (maybe that's why they do). Upon buying, you get your posters in a fun packaging, also helping to make this an excellent gift for someone who have a special place in their heart for Cph, or perhaps Nørrebro?
Wonderful free museum in Copenhagen. The museum itself is absolutely lovely and gorgeous…read more If you have kids it's definitely worth a visit on weekends where they serve an amazing brunch and have a children's work shop where the kids can use clay, paints, glu guns and you name it! There's even an academy educated employee to help the kids in their project. You can't bring your pram, but they have complimentary Stoke prams/strollers. But come early to be sure to get one. On the first Sunday in the month they have a kids project on the scene. It can be an art instillation with yarn or make your own home with cardboard boxes. My 3 years old loves it. The brunch is wicked and homemade from scratch and very nordic. Admission to the museum is free but the kids workshop costs 45 kr.
