We went to Mathnasium about three weeks ago. My daughter took their assessment to see where she…read moreneeded help in math. Well, three weeks later and no call, no contact, no nothing. This place was highly recommended, but if I can't trust them to call me back with some information on how they are going to help my daughter, how can I trust them to actually tutor her? I made repeated calls in the last three weeks, and twice someone said they'd have someone call me back, but I didn't get any calls back. I left my name and number several times, and it's on the form I filled out there. I just called today, and I got no answer and no voicemail. I am so disappointed.

Ms. Leslie helped me navigate the School System as well and get my son to be recognized as having a Specific Reading Disorder, to get additional support in the school. I continue to be amazed at how much my son loves going to see Ms. Leslie, even as he is complaining about not wanting to go to school every day (not sure if you can relate to that at all?? ;0) The vast knowledge that Ms. Leslie has in this area is truly a vision to behold... her systems are artistic in a way, finding new avenues to bring even more success out of my son. During a parent / teacher conference this past spring, we were advised our son Matthew (who was in…read more3rd grade) was falling behind in class in several areas. We immediately began searching for a tutor, in the hope that we could help Matthew with his struggles. After reading about the methods applied at Student Learning Recovery, we decided to give them a try. Leslie of Student Learning Recovery worked with Matthew and was able to identify key areas where he was deficient, below grade level in certain areas. Leslie applied her methods of Visual Perception Therapy twice a week, and we began to see improvement over the course of several months. Matthew's teacher also noticed that he was now keeping pace with the class. Matthew finished the school year strong, passing his End of Grade (EOG) exams for math and reading comprehension. The math test took my son 8 minutes (literally). At which point they shook our hand and said "Let us know what you decide".. It didn't give us any sense at all what their tutoring/math help would consist of, or if it would be a good fit for us. For the money they charge it would be reasonable to give an honest sample of what to expect. We were out of there 20 minutes after we walked in. It's probably a reasonable solution for younger kids.
