And, returning here over the summer, this was the first stop we made in Antalya. Seriously - as soon as we dropped our bags at our pension, I lured my jet-lagged husband down Isiklar with promises of mouth-watering kebaps and lahmacuns and kunife. MMMM. After so many years, Pasa Bey has not changed at all - service is excellent, food is the stuff dreams are made of (well, mine at least), and the prices are fantastic.

My tour guide Faray is the one who suggested this place and said this is not a known spot for tourists and big tour buses, however, since it was only me it was a great chance to try it out, it's spacious, restrooms and clean, the food here is still tasty and delicious just like everywhere I've been in Turkey! As always prices are affordable, ordered the turkey pide, chicken shish, and doner kebab along with the pumpkin dessert which was a little too sweet to eat alone! Impressive serving of Pide in one long piece bridged across the table…read more Lacklustre Adana kebab fatty meat and bread didn't seem fresh. The plates with fresh salad leaves, pickled cabbage and peppers seemed less appetising when I walked past the serving prep area and realised that the waiter left the salad leaves to be reused. I hadn't touched them but who knows how tables they were served for before.

The restaurant is situated in the middle of the shopping streets near the ruins. The atmosphere is cosy, classy, and welcoming. We didn't feel pressured by the staff there at all to enter the restaurant. Unlike numerous other places. The staff is simply great. So friendly and hospitable. One notable waiter called Ibrahim (I think) helped us out throughout the whole process. He was accompanied by a younger fellow who was simply too precious. He didn't say much but he worked hard. The waiters would constantly refill our drinks (water) with no extra charge. The waiter even treated us to coffee, tea, and dessert. The food differed. We were five people who ordered five different dishes. The dishes ordered were the mixed kebab dish, Iskandar kebab, the Ottoman dish, the sirloin steak, and the mix seafood dish (names are not precise). My dish, the Ottoman place, was ok. The dish consisted of minced green peppers, tomatoes, and sliced meat with rice in the middle. I wasn't too impressed, to be honest. My sisters who ordered the steak and seafood were in absolute love with their dishes. My mom ordered the kebab and was very impressed. My dad and I were less impressed with the Ottoman and Iskandar dishes. Overall, I'd go back there for the seafood dish or a different meal. I felt very welcome there and would give it a second chance with the food.
