Sheets were dirty, stained, and dressers were missing knobs and broken. What are people paying yearly for if it isn't upkeep of the rooms? The only saving grace?? Amber who does the booking for excursions. She is by far one of the nicest, funniest, amazing individual to book and find you the best excursion. Amber should get all the props for everything about this place. Let's also talk about the pool. The pool was great honestly but there is no security to help with only having it be resort guests only. Many locals come in and use it as well because people let them in or leave it unlocked. The jacuzzi at points was never warm and was filmy and nasty. This was my first time staying here and I was hoping for much better but it was a disappointment apart from Amber.

Eric is still around the pool and remains as welcoming as ever. The woman who served us at breakfast was lovely and had a wonderful smile, and Jenny at the spa is still here too -- she continues to be fantastic. Areas of feedback for the property: We found many of the units to have been in mediocre condition and poorly maintained. Two units have broken a/c's and a third was just barely strong enough. Also had WiFi issues, broken bbq lids, non operational patio fans, broken dishwashers. In the common areas, the gym has a decent set of weight equipment, but is comically small, almost infuriatingly and dangerously so. Every morning and every evening before dinner it was just so packed, you could barely do your sets without bumping into somebody at the machine next to you To add to that, the gym's air conditioning was broken all week (who knows how long before that?) which added to the discomfort. I'm a pretty easy-going traveler and have no problem when a couple of these happen from time to time but seeing them all occur is a clear sign of poor management by the ownership. My TLDR here is it's a good property, but shows extremely poor management and excessive cost cutting, and ultimately becomes a subpar product until that's addressed.

Everything closes down by 8/8:30pm so if you're looking for an active night scene, Ka'anapali isn't the spot for you. They will try to get you to go to a presentation about timeshares. But it does have a lot of other things going for it. Our favorite is the location to the boardwalk and the super easy access to the most beautiful beach. Perfect for morning walks. Snorkeling is incredible there. Also turtles, sometimes dolphins, monk seals and tons of whales during whale season. You have to pay $90 for two beach chairs and an umbrella. $36 for just an umbrella. Parking is $35 a night. It all adds up quickly. If you want a lounge chair at the pool, you have to get up by 5 AM to get the one you want. They have activities all day and live music most nights- really enjoyable to sit by the fit pit, watch the sunset and live. The rooms are hit and miss. Sometimes we get an ocean view where you can see a sliver of water. Another time we were next to their laundry units, which were loud. Other times we were ocean front and it was incredible to watch the whales. The little kitchenette is perfect. They are well stocked. And I love that you can do laundry. They clean the rooms every two days but you can ask for supplies if you need anything.

The only compensation offered was a $50 resort credit, which did not reflect the inconvenience or the time we spent trying to resolve a problem that should never have existed. Beyond our room, both the villas and many of the common areas felt worn, dingy, and lacking the level of care we have come to expect from the Westin brand. The most disappointing aspect of our stay wasn't simply the condition of the property--it was the apparent lack of urgency and concern from management. We have always associated Westin with quality, service, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below those expectations. We hope management takes these concerns seriously because loyal owners and guests deserve much better.

We were in a 1 BR + loft unit on the second floor in Napili. This was needed due to our group arrangements (two teen boys, two adults). The boys slept in the twin beds in our back bedroom, we slept upstairs in the loft with a gorgeous view out onto Honokeana Cove. We could watch sunsets from our balcony and it was an easy walk to the barbecues on the grass area of the lower levels or to the pool(s). We've also stayed in the lower 1br units and they're equally perfect. Donna will help you figure out what you need and get it all booked for you. We rented snorkel gear for the week at the shop in the parking lot next door, which makes it so easy for returns when you're done. Their prices seem comparable to the other chains on the island and they were really helpful in picking out the best size fins for my in-between feet. I highly recommend getting a float belt so you can just float without even thinking about it while snorkeling. We went out in the bay at least three times a day to swim with turtles, fish, octopus, eels...just amazing. Be sure to use the defog that the shop gives you with your rental! We stock up on groceries at costco and the market and then cook almost all our meals in the condo. The kitchen is well stocked with every utensil we would've wanted (except maybe a digital meat thermometer for the time we grilled steaks!) If you do like to eat out, Napili Point is located close to lots of great spots... The beds in our unit were really comfortable, the towels nice and fluffy, the furniture is tasteful and clean and the unit was well-updated. All in all, another perfect stay. Do not stay here…read more Yes I understand power outages happen. Can't control that the West Maui gets no power due to weather. But we were out of power Sunday, and HECO turned on power on Monday at noon. Westin said nah fuck that - still no power by late Tuesday. Everywhere else in West Maui has power btw. Jacuzzi doesn't work. Pool doesn't work. Staff hands out cookies and juice hoping you'll be ok staying at your no power room for the 3rd night. Bullshit hotel, don't stay here! Stay in Wailea instead.
