I am currently receiving orthodontic treatment at Kujak Orthodontics. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the clinic has a welcoming atmosphere. Dr. Kujak and his team are orthodontic experts, who approach each patient with professionalism. Moreover, the environment is fun-filled, with dad, jokes, regularly shared, and points awarded to patients for participating. Nominal prizes are even given to those who accumulate points for participating in the fun activities. It's silly enough to bring a little smile to your face and, perhaps, brighten up your day. Dr. Kujak and his team have a very personal approach that creates a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. They make an effort to get to know you not just as a patient, but as a person, taking an interest in your life beyond just fixing your teeth. This creates an environment where every visit feels like catching up with friends. The genuine interest shown in every patient's well-being goes beyond the typical doctor-patient relationship. Not only is the office environment, enjoyable, but Dr. Kujak has a knack for turning what could be a routine appointment into a surprisingly pleasant experience. I wish I would have seen the negative reviews before going to Kujak because it has been my experience as well. He takes full payment, and then you can't even talk to him. If you have even the slightest complication, he does not resolve it - the office manager will not return calls or emails. The many times I requested to see Dave during my appointments, they claimed he was unavailable. I googled "What to do if I am not satisfied with my orthodontic work" and the many results that generated simply stated to reach out to the office and share the concerns. Seems easy and logical, right? Not with Dr. Kujak. If the case is not easily resolved, he'll ignore you until you stop reaching out. I think he has so many 5 star reviews because he sees mostly children and their cases are relatively straight forward, he is upbeat and shares jokes, and for most people that's fine. If you are an adult patient, I would seriously read and consider the negative reviews before pursuing treatment at Kujak. My full experience is below. I held off on writing this review, but after still no resolution in gaps in my front teeth after sharing with Kujak's office that my dentist said that these should be fixed, I feel this is well warranted at this point. I started treatment with Kujak due to my bottom teeth being slightly crooked and my top being concave. Before treatment, I asked MANY question (yes I'm that person), about potential risks, cost, etc. I was told "That I would not leave Kujak without a perfect smile". I was spending a LARGE amount of money on something I had been debating for almost 7 years. Fast forward to getting my final retainer... (there are really too many details to share here)- I have a noticeable gap in my front 4 teeth. I had a dentist appointment yesterday, and both the hygienist and dentist pointed out that I should not have been released from treatment. The office manager keeps stating that it's due to the shape of my teeth and I can go to my dentist for more work that is costly. I'm confused how this aligns with being told that "I wouldn't leave Kujak without a perfect smile". Prior to treatment, no one noticed that my teeth were concave. It was largely a personal insecurity. Now, I have a gap that is a food trap, and that is noticeable to whoever I talk to. I was put in Invisalign, and told I would be done within 8 months. A year after treatment began, I was put in braces for 3 months. Then back in Invisalign for several more months. The amount of time is frustrating, but as long as I were to finish with teeth that I am happy with (and what I was promised), the timing doesn't matter too much to me. The entire course of my treatment, I saw Dr. Kujak only a handful of times. Every time I went in there, I had a different assistant that DID NOT know or care to read my file. I had to explain what was going on each and every time. It drove me nuts that each time, they would ask ME what I wanted fixed or to happen. Last I checked, I paid thousands of dollars to have a professional tell me what should happen. I can't see in my mouth nor have I studied orthodontics. My last appointment to finalize everything, Dr. Kujak was not even going to be there. There is no way that the assistants have the level of knowledge and understanding (which I paid THOUSANDS of dollars for) as Dr. Kujak. Additionally, as a teacher, my sick days are very limited. Taking off every few weeks for 8 months is one thing, but to extend to two-three years is very problematic. Dr. Kujak would always say that I could get an appointment after school because he knows this. But this was never communicated with the scheduling people. They only ever had appointments for me during the school day. All in all, I would stay away from this office if you have anything other than a child's mouth. He seems to see mostly children. I know first hand of another person who has had same or worse issues as me. He's quickly losing respect and referrals from Dentist offices in the area. read more

Kujak Orthodontics has been so good to our family! All three of our kids and their teeth have been well-cared for by Dr. Kujak and his staff. We drive over an hour just to go there, because the staff and the atmosphere are far superior to anything in our city. Each time we go, we are greeted with warm friendly smiles and a beachy, fun vibe that feels like a vacation. Our kids look forward to going and even keep a joke or two memorized to share with Dr. Kujak, because he always shares jokes with them. They love it. Kujak Orthodontics has also been very flexible in helping us to work in appts around our busy schedules. Getting in to be seen has never been an issue. Took 3 weeks to receive retainer. When called to question why it was taking so long, was told it had been ready but was never notified for pick up. When asked why, they replied they NEVER CALL WHEN IT IS READY. I asked how anyone was supposed to know when their item is ready??? They said it should have been communicated day of appointment...well...it wasnt!!! It wasnt communicated and you dont call...so how is ANYONE supposed to know when to pick up item they have already paid for? Horrible customer service and just service altogether. I have 3 kids I need to put braces on, but wont be giving them the service and DEFINITELY would not recommend them to anyone. I will be encouraging people to go elsewhere if the simplicity of getting a new retainer caused me this much grief, I cant imagine working with them on braces read more

I took my daughter in for an orthodontic evaluation and estimate. In retrospect, I think it was the weirdest experience I've had with a provider in my life?! The doctor, at first, seemed just quirky...overly touchy (overly extroverted...making lots and lots of awkward jokes) and kept trying to get her to do these different hand-shakes. My 10 yr. old daughter is really sweet and on the introverted side and wasn't really responding and Dr. Kujak just ignored her obvious cues and kept trying to get her to do different ones, which was a little odd. Then, because we have a larger family and I knew at least a few of my other children would need orthodontics (and I like to find deals or save money by paying cash) I asked if they ever offer discounts for multiple cases per family, etc. or cash discounts...he said no. I explained to him that I was only asking because he was one of the higher priced orthodontists in the region (By $1-$2K!), and he gave a good explanation of their cutting edge technology, etc. I left the practice and got two more estimates from other area providers. Even though he was a little quirky, and his estimate was the highest price (by far)...I had just decided to hemorrhage the $$$ and go with Kujak because of his fun looking office, and the good reviews I'd heard from friends, etc. I also figured we'd get what we paid for... However, that same week (it was late '19 or early '20-winter) someone from his office (office manager?) called my cell when I was on the way to a ski hill with my kids to let me know that "Dr. Kujak has reviewed my daughter's case and didn't feel that he could meet our family's needs. " That was it. I asked for some type of reason and the woman had none...it was a very awkward conversation. She said it was because he didn't feel like it would be a "good fit". We had plenty of money, I had only asked about multiple patient discounts because I have several kids. I honestly don't know what's "wrong" with Dr. Kujak ; but after this super weird experience we would never go to him or recommend him to anyone else. Something was really, really wrong with our entire encounter. In the end, I guess I'm relieved we didn't go with him only to have a bad experience...but it was still a big waste of time and effort and we ended that expErie CS in a very bad note, to say the least. read more

I am sure it is fine if you have a very basic problem and are ok with the fast paced factory assembly line to churn through patients as fast as possible. If there are any problems though or if you need Dave to call you, don't hold your breath. He will take full payment on day one but will not call a concerned parent if there is a problem. He walks out the door at 4:30 and leaves his practice (and patients behind). He tells a lot of corny jokes though that seems to delight the masses and makes it easier to forget about the other stuff. The other review about them refusing to call patients about anything is definitely my experience as well. I just took the loss and went somewhere else and got much better caring quality service without the painful jokes. read more
