Great tour. Very informative and the history of the farm was interesting as well. The Coffee is amazingly yummy (I really do not like the taste of coffee either) and the Chocolate, divine!!! The bananas and macadamia nuts were fantastic as well. They were friendly and it was a lovely way to start our date day together (we left our young adult kids as the condo for the day).

This farm tour was everything we were hoping for and more! Coffee, chocolate and a vast array of fruits. Una was very welcoming and informative. Since they have been operating the farm for several decades, she's full of helpful and unique farming and local island info. We have never seen so many different types of plants and vegetation. We were able to try several fruits we'd never heard of. The picnic on the lanai at the end of the tour was wonderful. Their old style medium roast coffee, amazingly delicious. Their jams and chutneys, fantastic. 70% chocolate, heaven. I was infatuated with the avocado as big as my head though...smooth, creamy and incredible. Una even shared her avocado ice cream with us! If you want an authentic Hawaiian farm experience, free from commercialization and pesticides, come visit Kuaiwi Farm! It's the best $15 you'll spend on your trip. Wear long pants/sleeves and walking shoes.

It was a delightful experience spending our day with Una, learning about growing coffee beans, cacao and tasting fruits right off the trees. She made us sit by her porch and poured us a hot cup of coffee with home made chocolates, home grown bananas and banana crisps on the side. Truly wonderful. If you are in Kona, please do visit Kuaiwi farm, and meet two very lovely people, Una and Leon. It's such a homely experience, aah can't talk about it enough. Must do!!

Fantastic 1.5 hour guided tour by Una Greenaway (owner). Very interesting tour we sampled all sorts of fruits, cacao, & coffee.

Fantastic 1.5 hour guided tour by Una Greenaway (owner). Who not only knew all there was to know but was extremely inviting and hospitable. Very interesting tour where we sampled all sorts of fruits, cacao, and coffee picked fresh as we walked through her property. The your ends at her home where we were served finished products of the coffee, jellies, chocolate, and more. Well worth the time and fees. Great time!

Learning about the different coffee variants that are grown such as Kona typica, Progeny 502, and the "boujee girl" Geisha was awesome to learn about and see for ourselves. Did I mention endless coffee sampling? Such a relaxing atmosphere to sip all the coffee you want and enjoy that view. And the cutest cats on the property were such a delight mingling with the guests. All staff members were so helpful and they even treated us with a goodie bag of freshly picked fruits from the farm and a bag of peaberry bites (my new favorite) all as a thank you for paying a visit on our honeymoon! Was not expecting that all but such a sweet gesture! I would highly recommend Heavenly Hawaiian farms to anyone if you're on the Big Island or in the Kona area. They have samples of everything out in their gift shop, and they're doing some pretty fun stuff - we absolutely bought a couple bars (as usual, I liked the darkest and my wife liked the lightest chocolate the most, but they were all quite good.) I'd give the *tour*, which they only do a couple times a week, so we had to adjust our schedule a bit to make it to one, a 4/5. It was interesting, but you don't actually get to see any chocolate being made, a lot of it was just discussion (albeit: discussion while standing in a production cacao orchard - I'd never actually *seen cacao trees in person, they are pretty cool! Cool, but also full of spider webs.) They also cut open a fresh, ripe, not-processed-yet cacao bean at the end of the tour, and we got to try a little bit (it's delicious - sweet and fruity, nothing like chocolate. I wish we'd gotten to eat a bit more of it, honestly.) It was an interesting tour, not sure it was worth the extra planning it took to be there for it though - other than the fresh cacao fruit, you don't get anything you can't also try in the gift shop any time of day.

The color of Mauna Kea with the moon shining on it was so magical all around us. There were some clouds that cleared pretty well by the end of our star gazing. Jeff, our awesome tour guide, used a laser pointer to help us see the constellations we usually can't back at home. The images on the digital telescope like nebulas, the moon & star clusters were an amazing addition to have as keepsakes. My husband and I felt he made the tour a great balance of learning and fun. He had the group feeling like family before we even left from the pickup lot. Things to consider: I do recommend following the moons cycles booking this tour/your trip if this is especially important for you to see as many stars as possible. The sunset and views of the observatory's make it awesome anyways :) I struggled with altitude sickness around 12,000 ft. Jeff had made sure to let us know beforehand if we experienced any issues to speak up. I was hesitant as I know it would mean turning the whole tour around, but some tingling turned to dizziness and then a brief fainting. He immediately stopped the bus and helped ground me and make sure I was completely okay & coherent before letting me know our options for the tour. We made it up to the top with 2 more (included in tour) stops and I felt better with each one having more time to acclimate :) Thank you Jeff!! You handled this so professionally and I appreciate your check-ins for the rest of the trip. It's cold even with parka and gloves. It's so worth packing warm shoes and layers.
