I am surprised there are not more reviews!…read more
Yes, this park is well outside Copenhagen and is more of a day-trip. We had the luxury of renting a car and so therefore we also were able to make stops along the way. Some of the reviews online mention that the food offerings here are not so good, so we bought lunch outside and brought it with us.
Pro's:
-The animals seem to be in good condition
-Many are approachable
-There are clear signs telling you which areas you can get out at and which you must stay in your car for
-There are additional activities such as a 'hayride' of sorts on a tractor where you can feed monkeys. The new dinosaur attraction sounds cheesy, but it's surprisingly well done.
-The park seems to have struck a good balance between having areas designed to allow the animals to retreat and feel secure, yet they are not always hiding where you can't see them
Con's:
-They give you a map, but the location is confusing. We drove around in circles a couple of times, when trying to get to other areas
-The safety signage was in English, but not all signs had translations
-The woman at the check-in yelled at me for writing on the program (the pen she gave me didn't work, I had to scribble on something!)
-There is not much going on in the nearby towns. This is a day trip (you wouldn't want to stay nearby)
