The store is poorly run. The shelves are never stocked. I don't see how Walmart can be fully stocked as well as other Kroger's. The store is not too well maintained or clean. Friday is when they have 4 times gas points but nothing to buy. read more

It was 8 a.m. Friday morning when I walked into the Island Ford Kroger. I was followed by the pharmacy staff. This caused a delay in the opening of the pharmacy which has opening hours posted at 8 AM. My husband went to check out the small amount of groceries. None of the full-service checkouts were manned. There was only one employee at the self-checkout to assist customers. One item rang up at a price different than advertised and it took the employee so long to figure out how to correct it that we left without the product. There was no one at the customer service desk to address our needs. There appears to be no sense of emergency or order. If this is a normal Friday morning at the Island Kroger here in Madisonville we will drive further to do our grocery shopping. read more

I love Kroger! This is our favorite store in Madisonville, we buy a lot of whole chicken and Kroger's is the freshest. They always have great sales on meat and produce and a wide variety of items you can't find anywhere else. You can't have a great store without great people, and it's obvious how much effort everyone puts into maintaining a beautiful store. Thanks! read more

When I injured my foot back in August, they didn't hesitate to help me get my groceries to the car. That kind of care means a lot. I especially want to spotlight Leah, who has been with Marketplace for several years. She always assists me--whether at checkout or in any way she can--and I've noticed her helping many other customers with the same cheerful spirit. I truly look forward to seeing her and the rest of the staff whenever I shop. Just tonight, a young man named Aiden helped me load heavy cases of water into my car. He was polite and thoughtful, and I appreciated his help. Marketplace is always fully stocked, always so clean, and I've always felt valued as a customer. I've known Mr. Everly since the days when his father ran a grocery store down the road, and that same sense of appreciation for customers continues today. A July 2025 NLRB ruling found Kroger and supervisor Banks guilty of unfairly banning union talk (Case 07-CA-344196). Kroger breaks the law! AGM Gibson is retaliating against employees by writing employees up for using their earned sick time under Michigan State Law! This is illegal! Update even tho James Gibson broke state law Kroger chooses to still employ him and why? Because they don't care about the law. Kroger FC10 is now cutting employees hours right after the employees voted in the first contract. FC10 management is so retaliatory that they will try to eliminate jobs out spite. Not because there's no business, because they want to harass employees. James Gibson AGM, Jame Banks Supervisor both at FC10 are teaming up to retaliate and harass employees. Kroger's fulfillment center in #RomulusMI is doing just that, breaking the law!
