Several of the employees also asked me if I was finding everything OK which is something that you don't get at the major box stores... friendly employees. The prices seemed very reasonable to me, in fact their prices on store brands seemed to be a tad bit lower than Kroger's and Walmart. Although I did not purchase any meat, the meat seemed to be just as high-quality as any of the major chains carry. Undoubtedly, I will visit the store again in the very near future.

Food Rite used to be abysmal and I never shopped there. I don't know if management changed or…read morewhat, but it has been my favorite grocery store in the Dyer County area for the last couple of years. The meat and produce are fresh and the selection of food is impressive for a small, local grocer. It can be a little pricey but they offer great deals and they buy and sell local grown whenever possible. They also bag your groceries and help you to your car if you want. The deals I have found generally offset the higher costs of other items, so between that and gas I figure I break even and probably even save some money most of the time. The staff and management are friendly and knowledgeable and I am always greeted several times by staff during every shopping experience. Senior discount day is Wednesday so plan accordingly and always check expiration dates. This is my biggest complaint about shopping here. The don't always pull expired products and if you aren't careful, you will go home having purchased an expired item. It doesn't happen all the time, but it has happened a few times to me over the years, especially with processed sandwich meats. Finally, they have many addictive bakery items so treat with caution. I have never had a better carrot cake than theirs and I don't even generally care for carrot cake. Most of their bakery and deli items are delicious, and believe me, I've tried them all!

And why? Because I had removed a seat and sat it outside the car to clean the carpet better under the seat. I told the guy WE HAVE SPENT OVER $10.00 IN YOUR VACUUM AND CAR WASH! It was a lot back then. He said I DON'T GIVE A GODDAMN. GET YOUR ASS OUT OF HERE! Once I bought some gas at this Q-Mart. Half water. Had to have my tank drained and cleaned out. I called the guy and he said MY GAS AINT GOT NO GODDAMN WATER IN IT! He was a real jerk, and I suspect by 2020 he is ;robably dead, and I am sort of glad if he is :-)

Their meat is excellent as well! There are all kinds of bbq sauces, jellies, salsas, cupcakes, breads and gifts to choose from as well. This place would be a good choice if you were having a party, need a gift basket, go on a picnic or grill out with friends.

Their fresh cut steaks are top-notch when compared to local chain grocery stores, which is just about the only places you can get decent beef around here. Their locally sourced and prepared sausages are great as well. They have some local bakers with fresh loaves of bread, local picklers, sauce-makers, etc. Well worth the drop-in. Highly recommend.
