Anyone giving this Krispy Kreme anything less than 5 stars is a hater...period! I really need to get a hold on my sweet tooth and this visit may have been my last hurrah for a while...pray for me! I came in because the previous day another Yelper reported that the line inside wasn't nearly as long as it was the previous week. Well, I guess I caught the "after church" rush because the line snaked around the entire place, but on a great note...it moved! They actually have order forms you can fill out for the assortment of donuts you want, but they lacked in the writing utensil department.There were only two, and guess what I had in my hand upon entering my car...one of the two pencils. Lol, sorry guys. As an educator, I get it. Sorry, not sorry. Per usual, the donuts were freakin amazing! I ordered a dozen. Six for me, and six for my child. And I was certain to tell him which were mine upon my arrival home so that there wouldn't be any problems. I scarfed down all six that day because we all know that day old donuts are good, but they aren't GREAT! I could go on and on, but it's Krispy Kreme, the HAWT light speaks for itself and I can't imagine the light ever going off at this location. read more

The Charlotte/Concord area is blessed with a pretty great donut scene. If I want an incredible chocolate cake donut I can drive a few miles down the road to The Donut Shop, or if I want a thick, delectable yeast donut topped with vanilla frosting and oreos I can go to OMG Donuts right down the street. Sometimes though, you just want a classic. A simple, light, sweet ring of happiness. My local favorites are better at a lot of different things, but when I think traditional glazed donut only two words come to mind. Krispy Kreme. Krispy Kreme is the OG when it comes to donuts. They've been around since 1937 and considering they started just a few hours up the road in Winston Salem I'm surprised it took them so long to put up a shop on this side of Charlotte. Speaking of shops, they went all out on this location. I've been to a few Krispy Kremes before and none of them were this nice. Most have very limited seating and only some have a view of the line. This location has indoor and outdoor seating, as much as some fast casual restaurants, and not only can you see the end of the line, the entire donut making process is on display in full view of every guest. I tried to get in here yesterday for the grand opening but the hype was a bit too much. A line of 200+ people and a parking lot swamped with cars being directed by police was a little too much excitement. I love donuts. I'm not going to wait 90 minutes for a couple donuts. Today was still busy, but much more tame. I think it only took about ten minutes to get in and out. Once you've made it to the front of the line you realize just how much effort they've put into this place. All the options and flavors you've come to expect are here, along with so much more. Fully customizable donuts (think Duck Donuts), donut ice cream sandwiches, and donut infused milkshakes. They even have traditional ring donuts filled with the cream they put in the round solid kind. Almost like a stuffed crust donut. All that pizazz is nice, but I came with a goal in mind. I got one regular glazed with chocolate frosting and one regular glazed fresh off the line. There really is no comparison to a fresh, warm donut you literally just saw being cooked and glazed 60 seconds ago. They legitimately melt in your mouth. It's like food dissolves and leaves only happiness. In case you can't tell I'm a huge fan. This store is a wonder to behold and they live up to the quality I expect when I think Krispy Kreme. Am I going to come here all the time? No. I love supporting my local donut shops, and there are so many around Charlotte to choose from, but if the craving arises you bet I'll be checking to see if that "Hot N Ready" sign is on. I look at it this way, more donut shops means more donut choices means more donuts for me to eat. read more

The woman in the drive thru gave me a strangers credit card and receipt. Shocked! That was after waiting in the drive thru line for 45 mins. Second visit I parked and went inside. My shoes stuck to the floor and the sound of my soles unsticking as I lifted each foot to take a step. This could be a serious problem for the elderly or people with walking disabilities. Time for safety training in your establishment. Inside there is no clear direction where you order or pay. Management needs to learn to teach as they manage staff. Keeping a clean mop when mopping cleans sugar up off floors. If needed, dump bucket of water often until the floors are free of sugar. Too many standing around when the trash receptacles needed dumping. Too much trash in the parking lot. Time to teach employees world ethic, take ownership. Your competition is up the street at OMG donuts and so far, I'd say you're overrated and I prefer the clean establishment and donuts at OMG. read more

I was trying to place an order this morning in the drive through and apparently the guy gets frustrated with my simple order so he just stops talking. Doesn't say hold on or give me a second, nothing. So I waited and two minutes later a lady gets on the Intercom and says how may I help you. I asked if the guy forgot that I was placing an order and she just laughs and says you wanted the dozen glazed and what else? She keeps laughing while I'm trying to tell her my order and she has the nerve to say that she couldn't hear me so I needed to repeat my order for the 3rd time. The thought it was hilarious that they put me on hold and to keep asking me to repeat myself while they cracked up. I'm wondering if they were sugar hipped or high as a kite at this point. Don't trust the light!!! I pulled in because the light was on and asked for 6 fresh hot donuts. They did not give me fresh hot donuts. When I asked if they were fresh and hot, I got no answer. I then said, these don't feel hot. The employee said, "have a nice day" and closed the window. Don't turn on the light if you are no willing to serve fresh hot donuts. I've been to many others Krispy Kreme before but couldn't wait to try this new location out. Mostly because of their milkshakes and donut ice cream sandwich that are new and only served at this specific location. They've been opened for a little while now but every time I stopped by they were jam packed with the line outside the store. Last night my husband and I finally decided to face the line to try their goodies. We waited in line for 45 minutes and boy, was it worth it? Hell, yeah!!! We ordered the fruit loops ice cream sandwich, double chocolate milk shake, strawberry and lemon chiller and two filled donuts. My favorite thing was the donut filled ice cream, it was heavenly delicious!!! I can't even describe how good that was you must go and try it yourself. The milkshake was good but a little bit bitter. I guess it could be good or bad depending on how sweet you like your chocolate milkshake. I wouldn't order the double chocolate milkshake again but I will definitely try different flavors. The chillers was good as well but wayyyy too sweet so this is a no no for me in the future. The donuts we had were delicious as well since Krispy Kreme never lets you down :) The decor was cute, the staff very friendly if I could give them 20 stars I would!!! read more

Akk. I didn't want this to be the review I wrote but it's honest. My kids and I arrived at 1ish on a Thursday afternoon to celebrate the first week of school. I tried to go when I thought it wouldn't be "line-out-the-door" crowded and it wasn't. There were fewer than 10 people in line ahead of us and we took our place at the end of the line. They were not making doughnuts at the time which was a bummer since I wanted my little kids to see them being made. However they were cleaning the machinery so I'm thankful for that. There are three registers at the front and only one person checking people out. The young lady who picked our doughnuts was friendly and helpful and fast. However, we waited in line at least another 15 minutes for the cashier to check out 2 people. I quickly realized that she was new and/or poorly trained. She had no idea how to scan the KK app for points and asked to take my phone. I told her I didn't want to give her my phone and then she asks for my number. "What's your number?" I said, 'I don't have a number." She asks me another time and then clarifies, 'What's your PHONE number." Sheesh. I thought she meant my order number. Meanwhile my poor 4 and 6 year olds are getting antsy for doughnuts ;-) The cashier was repeatedly asking another tall male employee how to ring people up and he was socializing/gossiping with other employees. It was mind-numbing. They are mostly kids and probably don't get paid enough to care. I can't imagine how slow it is when there is a crowd. As far as the doughnuts go they are enough to put you into a diabetic coma. A sweet, sweet coma ;-) My kids told me they are "too sweet!" But if you love KK doughnuts they are still the same. Just be prepared for iffy customer service and some wait time. read more

First time customer customer and I can honestly say they are doing many hongs right at this place. The customer service was awesome. The atmosphere was great and the place kept very clean. This new location is amazing! The amount of different items is really fun. They are always busy so be prepared to wait. Even for order ahead it is not always ready when promised. The store itself is very well designed. It is a fun experience especially with the giant donut outside. The new ice cream donut sandwich is amazing! Definitely recommend! read more

Everyone is super friendly and the smell meets you at the door and whisks you away on a magical adventure!! They have all type of customized donuts to your liking including a brand new Reese filled donut that was OUT when I arrived but no worries because the Vanilla Fruity Crunch took care of that. I lucked up and arrived around 2:30 with a short wait but the world of doughnuts was all mine for the taking!! (Insert evil Laugh)!! Lol. Took the kids here for my youngest's fifth birthday. We waited in line, got to the front and asked for a few customized donuts. I got three blank stares with a "we're not doing that." Really? You have a digital screen and hard-printed board that advertise them. My wife asked for a plain coffee and it came with a bunch of whipped cream on top. Might want to warn people about that.... Great location, I appreciate being able to customize my doughnuts. They are the regular KK on steroids. Ice cream sandwiches and milk shakes with doughnuts are the name of the game. I absolutely LOVE Krispy Kreme donuts coffee!! As a matter of y, that is the only coffee I purchase. However the Concord location for me, was a very very disappointing experience for me. I ordered a medium size cup of decaf coffee At the end of the shift on Sunday, May 30th. As I I got to the bottom of my coffee cup, there was at least a tablespoon of coffee grinds at the bottom of my cup!!!!!!! Can you imagine turning up your cup to get the last DROP and your mouth is filled with coffee grinds??? OMG....!!!!! What a disgusting horrifying experience, to say the least . And to think I drove all the way from Charlotte to Concord? I was totally disappointed in this visit and I love KK. I went through the drive-thru to take home a half dozen. First, I asked for an apple fritter but they didn't have any. Then I asked for a glazed creme-filled doughnut which is my absolute favorite but they said they don't make them with the traditional filled-type doughnut; instead they put creme inside a regular glazed doughnut. I got one but wasn't overly impressed. Then the 2 chocolate-iced creme-filled doughnuts I got were old, dry and not filled with any creme at all. Maybe it was a mistake going through the drive-thru. I may try going inside next time or I may just go to OMG which has never given us a poor quality product. read more

Pros: It's Krispy Kreme, of course it's delicious! Cons: The lines are LONG. Both times I've visited I have spent over an HOUR here. The first time was about 2 weeks after they opened and I was in the drive-thru for that entire time. I thought it was just because it had just opened but I returned yesterday (they've now been open for over a month) and had the same experience. This time I parked and went inside. The line was out the door but did move faster than my previous experience in the drive-thru line. The biggest issue was trying to leave this parking lot. The design of the parking lot is absolutely AWFUL, I wasn't even able to back out of my parking spot for 10+ minutes. From my observation, making the exit of the parking right turn only would help tremendously. You can still get back to the stop light by looping around the shopping center parking lot which is A LOT faster than each individual car (who isn't smart enough to just go right) waiting 5+ minutes for someone to allow them to turn left. This prevents the drive-thru lane from being able to move forward and also prevents guests who went inside from merging/exiting. Krispy Kreme needs to put up a right turn only sign OR designate an employee to direct traffic on peak days (Saturday/Sunday) I'm so happy to have a Krispy Kreme nearby but until the parking lot is improved (or both exits are actually open) I probably won't be returning. The entire experience was stressful both times - as much as I LOVE Krispy Kreme I can't say it was worth it. read more
