AMAZING! I had a cold that turned for the worse when I went sightseeing in Florence in the rain and…read morewhen I had this horrible hacking cough and a slight fever that kept me up at night, I had to find a doctor. My fiance and I tried to do as much research online as possible and there were a few Yelp reviews and some discussion on the English Forum but I will tell you every step of my experience to convince you that you should use the clinics in Switzerland. Firstly, it was Monday after Easter so I expected everything to be closed but lo and behold, the doctors were still hard at work here. It's in the Zurich HB station but the only accessible door is from the outside where the trams come and go. I read online that I do not need an appointment, walk-ins only. Already it seemed too good to be true if I could even see a doctor on the same day. At the office, I took a number from the machine and filled out a little paperwork. Then the receptionist (who speaks perfect English) gave me a website URL where you can check your place in line instead of waiting in the reception/waiting room where there were about 15 chairs, mostly occupied by people who looked like they had mild colds. It was a beautiful day outside and I could go for a little breakfast so I shopped around HB while I periodically checked the website (as there's free wifi in the station!) In about 30 minutes, my number was up so I returned to the clinic and waited 5 minutes before a doctor called me by my name. He spoke several languages, of course (and English proficiently). He took me upstairs to his office and I told him about my horrible cough problem, fever, chills, etc. and he entered the information diligently into his computer. He took my vitals and then checked my breathing with his stethoscope. Then he told me he would run a blood test to check my white blood cell count and other indicators for infection. I went downstairs with my chart, waited in a back waiting room for 5 minutes and then a nurse called me and she took my blood immediately. The test results were READY IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES and I took the results back upstairs to the doctor I just met with and he explained the results, wrote out my prescriptions and I took my file to the receptionist where I paid the CHF 125 or so for the bloodwork and the consultation by credit card, which I got reimbursed by my new healthcare provider. I was amazed at this low cost compared to what it would've been and how long it would've taken in the US. I went next door to the pharmacy and got my meds in 10 minutes, they have a fountain so I took my first dosage there and went home on the Zurich transport system that's always on time! The doctor said I will be all better in one week and I was. It was overall a very satisfactory experience and was firsthand proof of the amazing healthcare system here. I spoke to my ER doctor friend back home in NYC who said my kind of experience could not happen in the US unless there was a major overhaul of the American healthcare system so I'm grateful for Permanence Clinic and their staff.

The Dr Elliane Musman was so calm, friendly, caring, she explained to me what my pain was coming from, she gave me the proper treatment! I want to give her 10 stars! Thank you so much for your attention.

I used to be their client, but then my doctor moved and I moved with him…read more But today I learned something about them. I was charged for analysis of report even though the report was sent to the email address of my doctor, their former employee. Instead of trying to correct a possible mistake, they decided to do analysis themselves because of course they can charge me for that what they of course did. Yes, legally correct. Would I recommend them now: no.

I give this doctor's office four stars because it is a good "one stop medical shop" in Zurich, with…read morepretty good service from each doctor I've been to, and also from the receptionists. They have doctors specializing in family medicine, dermatology, gynecology, physical therapy, etc. I find their family medicine and dermatology services to be pretty good. I have seen great progress in my skin from seeing the dermatologist here to which many others didn't really take their time out to properly diagnose my allergies. They even have Saturday hours - a plus for Zurich! If your usual family doctor is not in, they will try their best to find another family doctor within this practice (there are several), so you never really have to worry about not being able to see a good doctor in an emergency. The one strange thing is that you have to go through a whole "Sihlcity" shopping mall to get to this doctor's office. You have to take the elevator to the 3rd floor, and within this whole Sihlcity shopping mall there are a few restaurants/stores on the ground floor, supermarket/stores on the first floor, stores on the second floor, pet store/Media Markt (nearby the doctor's office) on the third floor and Credit Suisse offices on the fourth floor. Pretty strange mix especially if you are very ill, trying to discreetly walk through this shopping mall to see your doctor!

Note to self: Don't use the bathroom before going for a check-up, because the first thing they…read moreasked for was a urine sample. Uh... let me drink some water and get back to you. The girl at reception looked at me like I was an idiot, but today's mini-crisis was averted by downing a couple cups of water and then waiting until the end of my appointment to do the lab work. :P Like most foreigners, I had no clue how or where to choose a doctor when I arrived in Switzerland. So I went on https://en.comparis.ch/ and looked for the cheapest HMO, as I had previously had good experiences with Kaiser in California. That led me to this facility, which I've gone to a few times over the years for regular check-ups and some other treatments. I must say that the staff are quite attentive and professional, and it's been quite easy to get by without knowing German. All the doctors speak English, the receptionists do well enough, and the lab assistants are a hit-or-miss, but we usually can figure what's necessary between the broken English/German. The rooms are nice and modern, and I get quick turnaround in English when I email them directly with questions. I thought that HMOs usually employ the whomever-is-available-will-see-you policy, but I found that this clinic tries to always get me the same doctor that saw me last time, so there is consistency in the visits. If I need to fill a prescription, then I just walk around the corner to Zweier Apotheke at Schmiede Wiedikon to get my meds. Quick and conveniently located right off Bahnhof Wiedikon.
