THIS IS A BEWARE REVIEW: My wife and I were in No Frills at Peace River Alberta on Aug 21st and were approached by a representative from PC Financial?? - he didn't properly identify himself - and were asked for our cards so he could scan them to see if we qualified for FREE POINTS. He scanned my card and then asked for my birth date and a message came up on his tablet saying that we would qualify for 5000 FREE POINTS if we purchased over $100.00 worth of groceries but didn't say how the points would show up. We just assumed the points would immediately show up on the till slip if we purchased over $100.00 that day, so we did our shopping and went to the till to check out and I told the clerk that we were supposed to get 5000 points if our groceries totaled over $100.00 but he didn't know anything about that. I asked him to call someone with higher authority over to the till to explain this promotion to me. A lady came over and told me that this had nothing to do with the store and it was a PC Financial promotion. As it turned out we didn't purchase quite $100.00 and I talked with the individual again that was scanning cards and he said the points, if I had any, would show up on my account in a couple of weeks. After the fact I realized that it was not the right and safe thing to do to allow a total stranger to scan my card and it smelled of a scam. I contacted PC Financial directly and after about 15 minutes of pushing that button , enter this information, listening to messages about their service, I finally got to talk to someone, but they were of little help. They just told me to monitor my card and if there were transactions that I didn't make to call them immediately and they would put a block on my card and investigate. So I then contacted the Peace River store directly and found out this wasn't a scam and was told they would talk to the PC Financial representative about properly identifying himself and properly explaining the promotion. Again this is a CUSTOMER BEWARE ALERT read more
