KRFC is community radio - which means that YOU too can be a DJ. KRFC is volunteer-based and organized, so it can take some doing to get a show, but the end result is almost always worth it. There are some great syndicated shows as well as some wonderful live performances. KRFC's equipment may not be the most advanced, but definitely not the oldest or worst equipment ever. Stop by and check 'em out - volunteer if you can and learn a thing or two! read more

KRFC is the only station in the area that has great community radio including Runaway fiddle, and the Mandolin show in the mornings. They also have the live at lunch show featuring great local acts, and national acts on their way through. read more

Pretty cool for local radio...a bit of rockybluegrassycountryish music that you won't hear on commercial radio. They do a live at lunch show of both local and regional bands...nicely done. read more

This once was a wonderful little radio station that played such and eclectic variety of music and really pushed the 'alternative' music they played that made its regular listeners confused and challenged, which was a GOOD thing. For years now after Clear Channel bought 93.3 you can really tell a difference in the music quality. Sure the music tastes changed since I fist started listening to the radio but I know I am not alone in making a protest about how commercialized their music sounds now on this radio station. There was a great little alt rock station that was on 101.5 and has since recently moved to the internet and that is what KTCL used to sound like...darn it I can't remember the name of that station right now. But any of you who listen to the indie stations you should know the difference between the quality of music they play compared to a corporate owned station. Sure KTCL has retro programs and techno programs and all that to mix up the types of music still from what sounds like a daily diet of very commercial emo music but it seems like no matter what the choices or what program it is it is completely lackluster on this once great little indie alternative music station.

True. Most of that is covered in other newspapers and a bit here but not extensively which I would like to see. Besides most of those magazines that do have Denver concert information available are in extremely limited circulation in Northern Colorado anyway so what could it hurt by adding this information?
