After coming here the first time I just had to come back again... and again... the quality of the food here is exceptional, they're pies are gloriously filled with chunky meat and lovely flavours but the pastry is the real catch. A golden look and a golden taste melting in your mouth. Of the sweet side of the bakery I managed to try the lemon meringue and the passion fruit slice which where both great. The lemon meringue had a soft and luscious meringue, the pastry content and not a crumbling mess, and the lemon curd was a perfect balance managing to be much less tart then most lemon meringues. The service was great and friendly, the place gives a very homey vibe and it's a pleasure to go to. Didn't have a chance to try much of the bread related items but from what I did they seemed more than adequate.
My definite highlights are the pork and fennel sausage roll, the lemon meringue and the chicken cacciatore, lamb and potato and pepper steak pies, although any choice will leave you pleased.
