Came here early yesterday night between two apartment visits. The restaurant was approximately…read moreempty with only a single table occupied. It took about 3 minutes for the hostess to seat us which felt like an eternity. How many reservations can you possibly have on a Monday night to not be able to seat 2 people at 6 pm?? Afterwards, the service quirks continued. For the first time since we arrived in Germany (~2 weeks), we dared to do the unthinkable: Order 2 glasses of tap water. We were not disappointed. At first the waitress made me repeat what I said, although I'm pretty sure that she perfectly understood the first time. Then she wrinkled her nose and went away. A little while later, the other waitress came back with 2 glasses of water on a tray and asked us: "Is this what you ordered? Really?" Haha, what a laugh! It is well known that German restaurants do not like to serve tap water and that they would rather sell you bottled water, however I was not expecting such an intense reaction. Anyway I thought it was quite funny and I can't wait to try this again in other restaurants. I had the grilled octopus which was amazing and my wife had the lamb souvlaki which she said was the best lamb she's ever had. 5 stars for food, 3 stars for service: 4 stars overall. We'll be back if we're in the area, and we'll order tap water again.

We stumbled upon this place while looking at all the different restaurants, cafes and bars around…read morethe area. There was a lot to choose from and for some reason this Greek cafe sounded good. This place did not disappoint at all. The joint is a small casual no-frills one with bench tables and a few regular booths. It's run by a mom and pops who speak no English but the menu was is in English and German. There is a small bar area with different alcohol. It was about half crowded when we dined. I had trouble deciding on lamb chops or gyro but then the Souvlaki sounded good so I went with that. I was craving some grilled meat and this charcoal grilled pork skewers is exactly what sounded good to me. I opted for the tomato salad and bread as my sides. Lo and behold, everything was so delish and seasoned perfectly. My dish came with 4 small half pork skewers, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and a side of toasted bread in a basket. My plate was garnished with a pepperoncini and Greek kalamata olive and drizzled with olive oil and a scoop of their tasty tzatziki which was made with thick Greek yoghurt. There wasn't a huge amount of food but enough to fill me up and fix that craving. I topped off my meal with a local Hamburg beer called Astra which was a sharp tasting beer and seemed to pair well. I joked with the owner that we will be back tomorrow but don't think he understood me. This simple meal caught me off guard and it was so good that we indeed came back the next night and had the same exact dish but with an extra side of tzatziki. The owner recognized us immediately and smiled as we entered. After we ordered the same dishes he brought us some shots of Ouzo. I tried Ouzo before and did not care for it as I don't like the black licorice taste. I did not want to disappoint him so we downed it. Yamas! I've been wanting to go to Greece for some years now and this place may push me to book a flight quicker. Even though we couldn't communicate with the owner besides my bad pronunciation from Goggle Translate, he was very friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed my meals here.
