She also goes above and beyond to make you feel that you have more problems than you really do. Oh! what a coincidence, she can treat the problem that she was the only one in the entire world that was able to detect...GOOD FOR HER WALLET. Also, because she is the only dentist working there, her appointments are limited. She owns the building and her home (and only lives 5 minutes away), so why does she only take on 2-4 appointments a day...because she's OLD and over charges. So she can afford to rip you off with a smile. Also, she gives you a mug of her office (free advertisement for her) and makes you feel like you got it for free, but trust me, you PAID for the mug.

It looked and smelled the same as the office in New Hampshire where I had my teeth cleaned in 1977. He browbeat me about my poor brushing habits (previous dentist had never objected). Ugh. Second one was a guy in Westwood who had an amazing high-tech cleaning machine that took about 20 minutes. But as soon as it was over, he started trying to sell me thousands of dollars of cosmetic work. Ugh. Then I went to Dr. Soler. Dr. Soler has her offices in a ivy-covered buliding in Atwater Village. It sort of looks like a day spa. I guess it kind of is a day spa, but for teeth. Dr. Soler did an extensive examination of my mouth and teeth before starting any work. She met with me and went over what was good, what were areas of concern, etc. That was four years ago. I still go there & recommend her to everyone. She & everybody in her office are great. Friendly, kind, and never ever judgmental if you didn't floss enough.

I had several VERY bad experiences at other dentists in the area, and then completely lucked out with Lanny. We drive down from Woodland Hills to see him (that's a pretty hefty drive down the 405 fwy), but its totally worth it. Pros: - Dr. Dinesfeld has an outstanding, calming bedside manner, and often wears Hawaiin shirts on the job - He runs a single dentist operation - this means he's it, and he is THE dentist you will see every time you go in - His long-time assistant Crystal is awesomely friendly and they have a great rapport - His appointments are NEVER stacked. Every time we show up 5 minutes early, and every time we go straight in. - Dr. Dinesfeld is a classic rock nut, and always has some great tunes on. He even plays jazz piano as a hobby! Cons -Um, well, the only thing I can think of is parking, but its not that bad. If you look around a little bit, you'll find something close. I want my dentist to do his job well. I am not ever disrespected nor is he grumpy to me. He is semi retired at this point and dedicates himself to his patients. Otherwise he would no longer be in business. He does not have staff so he is often a little discombobulated if his wife is not there to help him with the phones. The upside to this is that his costs are low and his savings are passed down to us, his patients. He's well worth putting up with. I drive from San Francisco to see him still. And, he does my mother's dentures and all the difficult work she needs with poor gums. She adores him as well. He takes good care of our family and he does so for all his patients.
