The air chills when you enter. The disapproving stares of the staff make their way down their long pointy noses right into your soul. You feel the warm air of the security guard on your neck. They glance back and forth from your wrist to your face with a look that says, "Now, just what do you want and how long are you going to be here?" The owner enters the room, his presence announced. He also looks from your wrist to your face in judgement. I try to make conversation asking how many pieces they get a year. "I am not going to discuss that with you but you can do the math easily," Was his reply. What is for you, the reader, to decide is which is the bigger tragedy? Is it that a storied brand of luxury and prestige lost the opportunity to have a conversation with a fellow watch enthusiast, educate them more about the brand, and create even more loyalty?
