You can absolutely visit the church, checking out both the outside and the inside. The plaza is well thought out and decorated well. We saw many souvenir stalls that had nice items, priced shockingly reasonably for the reputation Norway has for being a bit expensive. There were also food stalls, like churros and ice cream. There was a produce stand that had strawberries and cherries. You could smell the strawberries from over 10 feet away. So lovely!!! This plaza also borders a shopping area. The shops here are more touristy and higher priced but if you head down the hill a bit, there are some interesting shops and restaurants with more of a local feel.

We took the Boreal bus tour that takes you directly to the trail base ant takes about 50 minutes each way. The trail is well maintained and offers beautiful views of the mountains and Fjiords around the area. It took us about 4 hours to hike round trip with some breaks in between but not a lot of extra time for a picnic or longer breaks. It gets a little crowded on the top and there is a huge line for the iconic top of the rock photo, but it was very organized . Cannot recommend it enough!
