The majority of the staff wasn't friendly. The only person was decent to us was Andres. Do yourself a favor DO NOT STAY HERE!

The rooms are spacious with a good bed and pillows. The room was clean and comfortable. The building is clean and the breakfast is also ok. Over all value for money is quite ok. Wifi works reasonably well and is free. It's a place I picked based on the fact that most of the normal hotels we use were fully booked due to a trade fair happening at the Messe !! Staff are friendly and helpful and it's good value for money. I would happily come back here again.

The only flaw was the shower set up, no shampoo & conditioner which was strange, no door, thus good amount of splash bounced off the wall during shower. In addition, the room smelled bad a day after using the shower which was really bothersome. I spent some time & tracked the source down to the invisible drain under the wooden shower floor。 I am pretty sure it's either the drain or the wet underside of the shower floor that bred bacteria which caused bad smell. There's no access, no easy way to fix it, I ended up flushing the drain using the shower, wasted a lot of water but the problem went away.

The view of the river from my room was terrific. The walking path is great for exercise. I loved the size of the room. The reception area is really gorgeous. The large screen tv showing football is fun. The bistro for lunch is great, and service was fast. The staff at reception are incredibly talented and helpful. We only had a bit of trouble at dinner because the kitchen was terribly slow. Unforgivable, so I'm dropping a star. But hospitality standards were good, and the taste was exquisite. Hope they can fix kitchen processing soon.

If I had to summarize my experience at this place in one word it would be this: Awful!…read more With the Drupa tradeshow going on in Düsseldorf, all of our usual accommodations were completely booked, so we ended up here. Located next to the train station, it looks well enough from the outside and the tiny lobby is fine too, but that does not apply to the rooms apparently. Our room was not clean.* There were spider webs and dust bunnies under the nightstand and chair. Since the room did not have an A/C, we had to open the window which presented us with the view of an extremely dirty window frame. Our bed sheets had holes! It was a bit of a surprise for me that the mattresses were actually quite good. The bad trend continued in the bathroom though.* They must have had a water damage at some point cause there were dents and bumps in the ceiling, barely covered by the hapahazardly applied paint that also did not nothing to hide the large number of brown mold spots. The shower cabin door was from the 80s, did not close properly and the harder to reach places were covered in dirt and grime. The front of the heating unit next to the toilet looked like as if someone had hit it with a case of diarrhea and the other sections were full of dust. While the bath towels were actually fine, the hand towels were threadbare and the scratchiest towels I have ever seen. The service did not deserve praise either. The front desk was manned by a sour looking lady who eyed us suspiciously every time we passed by. I did not feel like a welcomed guest. And to put the cherry on the cake: A group of 18+ youths were staying at the hotel as well and decided around midnight to move their ongoing party from the basement lounge to the outdoors - right under our open window - where they spent the next 5 hours drunkenly screaming at each other or race their cars back and forth with squealing tires. I did not spend the night at the hotel.... so the review is just on the coffee shop and terrace. More specifically, I had about two hours for getting caught up on work email while waiting for a meeting. The servers were pleasant, the ambiance was nice.... especially on the terrace in the back, and the coffee was good (served with biscuits and a cream carafe). Since it is part of the "Art Inn" hotel, you would expect it to be well-decorated and well-appointed,,, and it was. If you have a few minutes to slow down and grab a cup, this is a decent spot (and the only one near here that I could find).

This time I was traveling with my family and that gave me a bit of mixed experience. The rooms are the same, but with an addition sleep-couch in the room, the desk can't be used anymore and the window can only opened/accessed by climbing over the sleep-couch. The queen size bed sounds royal, but queen size means 140cm and that's not a lot for two large adults. The pillow choice is however again as usual and the shower was the same quality as ever. The breakfast is also very similar, excellent for business trips, but for a cosy family breakfast the choice is a bit small. The location in of this HI Express is nice. Close to the city center, nearby a very large shopping mall with some fast food or outlets of restaurant chain nearby. All in all mixed feeling: 3 out of 5.

The outside courtyard area was a perfect setting for conversation and fun in the evening. Every detail was accounted for with blankets being provided in the outside area, lots of seating, games, fire pits, and perfect lighting. I will stay here anytime I find myself in this area.
