Anticipating a move to Colorado from Texas, I called Dr. Kolanz's office two months prior to my move to inquire if she was accepting new patients and if she will comply with the Dr. Sears delayed vaccination schedule. I was told by the person answering the phone that Dr. Kolanz would take my 6-month-old son and do the vax schedule -- all I needed to do was call for an appointment and they would get the records from the former pediatrician in Texas. Fast-forward two months later and I call to make an appointment. The person who answered the phone was rather curt with me and said they couldn't make the appointment until they received records from my former pediatrician. I called my former pediatrician who informed me that they couldn't send records until they got a release of records form from the new pediatrician. I call Dr. Kolanz's office again, and was told that I needed to physically come in and fill out the release of records form -- information that would have been extremely helpful the first two times I called!!! So, I go in to fill out paperwork and pay the former pediatrician to send records to Dr. Kolanz and try to make the appointment. The evening before my scheduled appointment I get a voice message from Dr. Kolanz's office informing me that they are canceling my appointment because Dr. Kolanz doesn't do delayed vaccination schedules... Once again, something that would've been good to know 2 months ago or before I paid my former pediatrician to send records to Dr. Kolanz! So, unfortunately I can't speak to the skills of Dr. Kolanz -- but if the incompetence of the people who work in her office is any indication, then I suppose I'm relieved to spare my son from this pediatrician. read more
