I was misgendered by the front desk staff immediately and I had to…read morecorrect them while they were taking notes as I was filing a complaint about the intake paperwork they make you do online, as you cannot give a complete, full medical history due to the fact that it has very limited answers and you can't write in your own; the fact I couldn't put down the medication I have a life threatening allergy to was especially alarming. I saw the medical assistant longer than I saw Cundiff and Cundiff didn't even bother to look at my throat or at my sinuses despite me saying my throat and sinuses hurt. This was a Friday and I was initially told that they'd call in a script for me, something I've taken before, because it should help the breathing trouble I was having. But, without notifying me, they changed that to an inhaler that my insurance didn't want to cover (and eventually 2 weeks later, they fully denied coverage of it). I had to call the on-call doctor, who was apparently in Arizona, to ask for what I was originally told they'd write a script for. I found out later that this on-call doctor, who I obviously was not examined by, "diagnosed" me with COPD. COPD has never been brought up by any doctor I've ever seen and, despite me telling Village Medical to remove this false diagnosis from my records, it's still there. The medication did not fix my breathing issues. The medical records they have show me taking that inhaler despite never even being able to pick it up. The level of communication with Cundiff, the clinic staff, and the regional management has been ridiculous. I would never recommend people going here. I picked Village Medical because they were supposed to be really queer and transgender friendly but they are not. The issues I had with being misgendered and the lack of compassionate care should really make anyone reconsider coming to any Village Medical center.

I asked did my doctor take my records with her? After many phoone calls it was worked out, but they insisted I was informed. I was not. I went for my yearly check up. The new doctor, who is very nice, asked me about how I was feeling. I told her I have seasonal alleries, but I had it taken care of. I told her what I was doing, and what I was taking. She said if I needed more help to reach out to her. That was it. They billed me $59.02 for that because seasonal allergies are not covered under the yearly check up. Now I know they go through everything word I say so they can code it and bill me, I will not go back. I was told if I don't like it, to take it up with my insurance company. This used to be a great practice. Since Village Medical took over it is horrible. I will never go back, and I will not recommend them to anyone.

After spending the shortest amount of time possible, the "doctor" claimed she couldn't see the infection, gave us some drops and sent us on our way. We went back the next day when he was miserable to find out that there actually was an ear infection. This doctor gave us the correct medication. We self paid at the time of service (if you can call it that) before both visits. Imagine my surprise when we received two additional invoices! I've called twice for an explanation and was told both times to speak with a supervisor, who hasn't been in the office either time I called. When I went to the office for an explanation because a supervisor doesn't seem to exist, I was told that they can collect the money, but they can't explain further and I need to speak with billing. How convenient!

I started coming here 3 years ago to bring my daughter as a newborn to see Dr. Simmons. I have…read morealways been impressed with his thorough exams, and willingness to answer our questions. From the first time he came to meet our daughter in the hospital, we have only had positive interactions. We have been fortunate to not have many sick visits for our daughter, but the few we have went smoothly. We were so happy with our experiences at Med Peds for our daughter that my wife and I both now have doctors there as our primary care physicians. All the doctors there are (as of now) board certified in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. I see Dr. Capes and my wife sees Dr. Lang, and we are both very happy with them as our doctors. Dr. Capes takes time to listen to everything I have to say, and clearly takes time to familiarize himself with my history each time I visit. He is also compassionate, and very personable. On another note, I've been very pleased with the office logistics. I've never had a billing problem, and most importantly - I can't remember a long wait. The patient load they take is well managed. The waiting room is never full, and once taken back into a room I don't think I've had to wait more than 10-15 minutes. These are the best group of doctors I've used, and they've earned my trust and future care.

I tried to continue to take the kids there for annual visits but lives get so busy it just wasn't possible. We had a couple of small issues with front office staff in our early visits and I think a touch more of a holistic approach would make the place perfect - but I certainly miss the practice and haven't found a doctor that quite compares. Highly recommend. Oh - one other thing - since the docs are also internal med docs you can make an appointment for you and your kids all at once. Had to do that here and there it it worked out great!

I felt great and really didn't see the need, but made the appointment on my way out anyway. Several weeks later at that visit she found a tumor that I later found was likely to metastasize. Today I am healthy and cancer-free, but if it had been found even a month later, it might have been a different prognosis. She really listens to her patients, she is thorough, and she cares. Today, I am here for my kids because of the exceptional care I received from Dr. Serrano-Toy.
