I brought this to the administration's attention with evidence and gave them multiple opportunities to respond. They have chosen silence. A school that ignores threats of violence from its own staff cannot be trusted to safeguard children. Parents deserve to know that the leadership here is unwilling to confront unprofessional and dangerous behavior in its classrooms.

GREAT CLASS EXPERIENCE…read more I recently went to the Congregation B'Nai Israel for a college course assignment for my Religion class. Being a practicing Christian my assumptions were that the synagogue would be more traditional in the sense of an Orthodox synagouge you'd see in Isreal. To my surprise, the Synagouge closley resembled a modern church in its architecture. Furthermore, the views of the synagogue were much different than I expected. The views were more liberal minded and very open. Something else I found fascinating was their idea of the Hebrew Bible. As a Christian, I Closely follow my scripture, but this synagouge tended to view scripture as important but at the same time an old document that doesn't always apply to our everyday life. I've never met a conservative Jewish group of believers and it was very different from my expectations. In conclusion, this experience gave me an eye-opening of how diverse the Jewish community is.

This is a wonderful synagogue, with fantastic rabbis and congregants. It is Orthodox but very…read moreopen-minded. Everyone is made to feel welcome there, and the congregants are quite diverse...people are holding at all religious levels. It is a place you can grow spiritually, but there's no pressure to do anything you are uncomfortable with. It's just a very warm and welcoming community. Rabbi Fisch (the Senior Rabbi) is one of the most warm, kind and amazing people I have ever known. And I don't know a single person who would disagree with me. He's incredibly kind, wise and very knowledgeable about all things Judaism. He is really special, and the synagogue is so lucky to have him as their leader. His wife Rebbetzin Fisch is just as incredible, and they are such an unbelievably special couple with a beautiful family (their kids are also sweet and adorable). The community is so friendly and down to earth. I don't think I've ever attended a service without being invited by numerous people to come for dinner or lunch. The congregants are just as much a part of why it is such a special place. I live in Fort Lauderdale, but I visit Jacksonville both for work and because my mother still resides there. I grew up in Jacksonville though, and attended this synagogue as a child, teenager and young adult (off and on in the 90s and the 2000s). I loved it back then as well. I am so proud to see the synagogue's growth over the years...from Rabbi Adler to Rabbi Kaiser and now under Rabbi Fisch's leadership.

I will preface this review by letting you know that I do not attend this synagogue. However, I have…read moremet quite a few of the congregation here as this is where they hold the annual Jacksonville Jewish Food Festival [which is not to be missed]. The Jewish Food Festival is the Temple's largest fund raiser and, from what I've seen, there are some major sponsors for this event. It is very well run with tons of food options and friendly people, but the key is to get there as early as possible to mingle with the community [and eat]. At this event, more than twenty plus different restaurants and caterers provided a plethora of noshes for those who purchased tickets for this AYCE festival. They can be purchased prior to the event or at the door. I can assure you that the food alone is well worth the price! Some of the past food items served have been brisket sliders, corned beef, matzah ball soup, latkas, bagels, lox, noodle kugel, baklava, macaroons, specialty cakes, hummus, chopped salads, and so much more. Seriously come hungry and go early, early, early! In addition, they hold a bake-off contest where attendees can vote on the winner based on tastings and raffles for wine and various other prizes. There's entertainment and a kid zone for the little ones to do arts and crafts. A great place to experience the Jewish culture... Overall, the inside of the Temple and the entire grounds are so gorgeous. And the people I met were very welcoming. They have an actual school with classrooms for Pre-K through 12th grades. You can feel that there is true community here and I would not hesitate recommending this place for anyone looking to join a wonderful community in Jacksonville.
