Best lunch spot around. Seating is usually full so I just will join a table, which is common here. Otherwise, they will provide everything you need for a take out order. read more

I make sure to eat here at least once every time I'm in Helsinki (although usually it's more like…read moreevery day). The sushi is good enough that you definitely can justify going just for that alone, but the "make your own noodle soup" station is really what keeps me coming instead of going to one of the multiple other all you can eat sushi buffets in the area. As a pescatarian (please don't tell me if the soup broth has chicken in it lol I want to have plausible deniability) I have no trouble filling my plate(s) completely. Even if you don't eat fish the sushi bar has many completely vegetarian/vegan rolls, and there are a few meat-free hot food options (fried rice, stir fried noodles, mapo tofu, stir fried vegetables, tempura vegetables, veggie spring rolls).

If I understood correctly, they don't take reservations -- or at least not for this particular Sunday. This was a sushi-only visit -- our table shared the "ISO" menu with 20 pieces, then a few different rolls on the side. The food was great, but I was disappointed in the beer selection -- I sipped two bottled imports. I thoroughly enjoyed Sushibar + Wine -- solid dining experience. I'm knocking off a star for not taking reservations, the tiny setting, and limited beer selection. That said, I look forward to my next visit!

The drinks menu was extensive (I had their special cocktail, which was excellent; I'm sure the wine pairings were good as well.) The best fish was definitely salmon (to be expected) -- several kinds in nigiri, sashimi, maki, or temaki. Lightly grilled was particularly good. The tuna wasn't quite as fatty or excellent as I've had in Japan or the best places in the US, but there are plenty of other great fish options. Overall, this is a wonderful restaurant -- I'll be back whenever in Helsinki.

Nice sleek decor and art on the walls which is nice. The service is fine, but nothing special. As a bonus they serve very good wine. For the past few months they've served macarons for dessert and unless you absolutely must have dessert I'd advice you not to have those. Apparently they are from Patisserie Teemu & Markus, which is an excellent place, but I'm guessing there's not much demand for the macarons as they've been very dry every time I've tried them.
