They are all about adding a certain notch of spice depending on who you are. KoKo is about the flavor of what they give you. It's nothing crazy with sauces and such, but just well made Korean food. Super authentic? No. But is it close? Yeah. The food was quick, great portions and the price point is spot on. 4 stars for being a great place to eat in Provo. And conviniently located as well! I found this place on Yelp, and I wasn't disappointed! Prior to coming out as gay and leaving, I served a mission for the LDS Church in South Korea. I have a great love for the Korean people, culture, and land. The food here was quite good--much better than what can be found in many areas of the United States. I was especially surprised given how unassuming the location appears. The menu is incredibly simple, the portions are large, and the prices are reasonable. We ordered our food to go. I really liked the taro boba smoothie. Special thanks to the staff who accommodated my mom's special requests (i.e., she ordered sides of japchae and kongnamool). The parking situation is a bit messy, so pay attention to the signs to ensure that your car isn't towed. read more

Wow! Koko is the perfect middle ground of Korean food in Provo. You have Cup Bop that gives you mayonnaise and sweet Korean food, and Sam Hawk that gives you a traditional experience (getting to eat kimchi and pickled beans), but it takes 45 minutes to get the food, and little interaction from staff. The food tasted great. The stone bowl was excellent, and the spicy pork was good (especially with some spice added). The prices were good, cheaper than other restaurants. The ambiance is about the same The service was spectacular. Food was done in a minute or two, they gave rice and noodles for free to our baby to keep him happy, they helped us know how to navigate the meal, and let us pay via Venmo. I felt the food was on par with Sam Hawk, but with a much better customer experience. read more

I love this place. Their services are nice, the foods are food (we got Hot Stone and Spicy Pork, which are delicious). The food portions are HUGEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! I only can finish half. Bonus: they have all-you-can-drink miso soup, which is my fave as well. The japchae on side is fresh, went well with my spicy pork. Really disappointed because the reviews were so good! I ordered the K3 Bulgogi, supposedly a sweeter marinade with the thinly cut beef. I found that the sauce was almost non-existent, and the beef only tasted of vinegar and ground black pepper. The bulgogi itself was half beef, half cabbage/onion. Also, the accompanying salad was bland, basically just lettuce, as was the noodles that came with. For a ~$10 meal, I didn't feel that it was worth my money. 2 stars because the staff was very nice and my food was ready within 5mins. read more

We stopped in here on a whim and it was great. We got a stone bowl and their pot stickers. The single bowl was enough for both of us. The bowl comes out hot and keeps your food cooking at the table. They brought out the sauces so we slathered the rice in spicy mayo and this sweet soy sauce. Great service as well. Nice and helpful. Watch yourself Cupbop. So this place has gone through a few owner changes but it's still a tasty spot for a quick Korean bite! Their Dolsot BiBimbop is their best item on the menu followed by the spicy pork. The meat portions have gotten a bit skimpy since the owner change but it's still tasty. The Dolsot comes out sizzling hot in a stonebowl that will make the rice on the bottom of the bowl crispy which adds a whole new texture element. I'll be going back because it's an affordable way to get my Korean fix. read more

The good: Free miso soup. The portions are generous. The flavors are alright, better than cupbop, not quite up to some other korean options. I mean, cupbop is not good, so . . . . The less good: The free miso soup is sometimes empty and the restroom is through a door, down a hallway, down another hallway past the homeless guy, and, uh, not well maintained. The furniture is uncomfortable. Sides are surprisingly expensive. By that I mean, you'll be shocked what a small bowl of steamed white rice or a dollop of extra kimchi will run you. Also, it's not that there's anything wrong with a family-run restaurant, just, it seems like not all of the family is really on board with the whole customer service thing. read more

It seems that KoKo Lunchbox has undergone new management recently. Now they offer ramen and stone bowl bibimbap in addition to their previous assortment of beef and pork rice/noodle boxes. The stone bowl comes out sizzling and makes the rice at the bottom perfectly crispy once you work your way there. I really like the KoKo ramen that comes with fried kimchi, savory chashu pork, and a boiled egg. The broth is so good and the portion is just right to fill me up without regret. "Better than Cupbop" is not a strong recommendation. The food is good: average or above, but not excellent. The service, though, is excellent. Ambience is non-existent, and it is sometimes cold. No panchan (side dishes)! By the way: "I've been to Korea" or "I've lived in Koreatown" are irrelevant. You don't have to be an Italian or have lived in Italy to judge whether an Italian restaurant's food is good. Someone with an Italian restaurant doesn't have to just recreate exactly what his Italian nonna made for his food to be good. Down with the notion of authentic food! The menu is small and simple, but not bad at all! If you've never had Korean food, they're very helpful in directing you toward something you might like. You also get a good amount of food for the price, and it tastes great! The inside is also cute, even if the chairs don't match (kidding!). If you don't know what to get, get the bibimbop. Foods here were VERY close to authentic. I got Kimchijjigae and it was the best kimchijjigae that I had in Utah. My husband got Donkatsu and dumplings, and those were REALLY good as well. Their portion was large and price was right. To be honest, I think this is the best Korean restaurant in Utah - wayyy better than Myung Ga in SLC. I live far away from Provo, but I'm willing to drive down just for the foods here. read more

I got the spicy pork dupbop and really liked it! It was sufficiently spicy and not too sweet. Good textures between the pork, cabbage and rice. Strong enough to thoroughly season the rice. And the rice was actually good! Grains are of the short variety, al dente, and well separated with a slight stickiness, just how I like it! haha The side salad actually had some green leaves instead of all iceberg lettuce and didn't have that trash "asian sesame dressing" I usually get. Not the most amazing salad but still exceeded my expectations. The sweet potato noodles were good, especially mixed in with everything else. While not the best korean food I've ever ate - it's super cheap, delicious, and convenient so I can't really complain. :D Highly recommend you try this place out! read more
