I feel so comfortable talking to her and trust everything she says. She is truly such a master of her craft. She also was the only doctor to get to the bottom of my complex sleep disorder. For several years, I was gaslit by doctors telling me that I couldn't sleep because of my mental state. I did one sleep test with Dr. Park and she was immediately able to identify the problem and fix it. She truly has been a godsend because my quality of life has improved so drastically since becoming a patient. I keep my insurance specifically as a PPO so I can stay in network with her. Thank you, Dr. Park and your wonderful team!!!

Dr. Margaret Park is hands-down one of the best doctors I've ever worked with. The entire team at…read moreChicago Sleep Health is kind, responsive, and genuinely committed to helping patients--but Dr. Park in particular has absolutely gone the extra mile for me. I've been her patient since 2021, and I honestly don't know where I'd be without her. I have very severe sleep apnea and narcolepsy, along with a long list of other health conditions that make my case exceptionally complex. Most doctors can't keep up, but Dr. Park not only remembers everything I'm dealing with (better than my own family!), she brings it all together with incredible skill, clarity, and compassion. She's always taken the time to listen to me, explain options thoroughly, and include me in every part of my care. Just a few examples of what she's helped me navigate: - 8 sleep studies (and counting) - 7 sleep medication changes + supporting me through over 50 other med shifts - Multiple rounds of insurance appeals - Various anxiety and mental health crises (with care, I might add) - CPAP and BiPAP therapy at nearly every pressure setting even when I went and complicated mask options with a septum piercing (maybe don't try that) - Evaluating options and walking through the process of getting a dental device for sleep apnea - Multiple rounds of documentation for my workplace accommodations and FMLA - Gastric bypass surgery I also want to highlight something that's rare and important: I'm a morbidly obese patient, and Dr. Park has never made me feel judged or blamed for my weight. Unlike so many other doctors I've seen, she doesn't treat weight as a moral failing or as the only thing that matters. She's talked with me in real, practical terms about how extra weight can impact things like my blood pressure, heart function, and throat tissue and what gastric bypass would do for my sleep. I trust her because she tells me the truth without sugarcoating it and without shame. Yes, her schedule is very busy. She's an awesome doctor, what do you expect? But in my experience, when something has been truly urgent, she's found a way to see me sooner. More importantly, she's exceptional at responding to messages: usually within 24 hours, always thoughtful, and always thorough. She never brushes off concerns or leaves things unclear. If you want a sleep doctor who's knowledgeable, compassionate, and actually pays attention to all aspects of how your health impacts you, I couldn't recommend Dr. Park more highly.

We chose the in-home sleep training package, and it was one of the best decisions we've made. Lisa helped us properly set up our baby's nursery for optimal sleep and guided us in establishing healthy sleep habits while eliminating the ones that were making sleep difficult. Before working with her, our baby relied heavily on being breastfed, rocked, and soothed to sleep. It often took hours to get him down, and naps could take up most of my day. At night, he would wake 6-8 times for feeding or soothing, and we rarely got even a two-hour stretch of sleep. When Lisa came, she was able to change everything starting from the very first night. Our breastfed baby now sleeps through the night with no feedings and is able to nap independently as well. The difference in his mood and energy is incredible--he is now a much happier and more well-rested baby. In addition to the in-home support, Lisa was very communicative and supportive throughout the remaining 14 days via text, always available to answer questions and provide reassurance. My only regret is not hiring her sooner. I highly recommend Lisa to any parents struggling with sleep, and I will absolutely be working with her again for our future babies.

When it came time to sleep train our second baby, we knew right away we'd reach out to her again. Lisa is simply amazing at customizing her approach to each baby's needs. She guided us through weaning our little one off night feedings and helped him go from being rocked to sleep, to sleeping independently for both naps and nighttime. He's now sleeping through the night, and it's been a total game changer for us. What sets Lisa apart is that she checks in daily throughout the two-week process, making sure you feel supported every step of the way. It's not just a generic plan you follow alone--she's there to help you troubleshoot and adapt, which makes the whole process so much more effective. She's also super fast to respond which is so reassuring when you need guidance. We can't recommend Lisa enough to any family looking for a personalized, responsive, and truly effective sleep training experience!

He prescribed me more CBT-I. It was in the goddamn referral that CBT-I had already failed. What a waste of my time and money. He also made a blanket statement "medication is never the answer." Not, "medication is a last resort", not "medication should not be used lightly," but "medication is never the answer." That's a religious statement, not a scientific one. When I mentioned my experience with CBT-I and how it made my sleep problems worse, he said he wasn't an expert on CBT-I. He literally claimed ignorance on a treatment he just tried to sell me. It would be as if an orthopedic surgeon had said "I'm not an expert on physical therapy." At that point you'd seek a different surgeon. I had to pry a sleep study out of him, he was resistant to even giving me a sleep study, saying I should retry CBT-I, a treatment that had already failed me once before. I ended up canceling the sleep study and saught treatment elsewhere with better results. I decided that given how poorly the doctor had listened during the session, I didn't trust him to actually interpret the results in good faith.

I was able to use techniques of sleep compression to readjust my body clock, and the results have been good. I should say something about my incredible sleep dentist, Dr. Gail Henry who made my mandibular advancement device. She is super-smart and competent but also warm and generous with her time and attention. Great Doctor. My CBT-therapist Dr. Scherer was helpful in introducing me to CBT-I and, as I said earlier, the overall benefit I received from him and this program was significant, and I'm grateful for that. Dr. Scherer himself I've found to be cold, a bit stiff, without a whole lot of relational or empathic ability.

Their office's patient management is…read moreabsolutely infuriating, and the treatment feels like they are pressuring you into quick fixes, not providing informed care. I did a sleep study here and was diagnosed with sleep apnea by Dr. Friedman in 2023, after which I received an oral appliance from their in-office orthodontist. I stopped treatment with them for the first time because The Chicago Sleep Center, which is under their umbrella, was supposed to do a follow-up study and completely bungled my scheduling: they did not respond to my calls requesting an appointment confirmation, but their automated system texted me to bring three items for my sleep study. When I arrived, the nurse asked if I provided a fourth item that they did not list, which was a small plastic piece for the oral appliance that they easily could have had in the office. My whole appointment was cancelled, and the nurse on duty reacted like this happens often. When the office called to reschedule, they blamed me for not bringing the plastic pieces, and I was so frustrated I stopped care entirely. Two years later, I hoped to restart treatment and asked if I could get a sleep study done somewhere else and submit the results to Dr. Friedman. They told me to come in and said I could do another at-home study instead, after which I would have a telehealth follow-up to discuss the results. The telehealth follow-up was a repeat of the terrible communication at the sleep center. I had to call the day before to ask how the appointment would work, and I was told I would receive a phone call at the appointment time. An hour before the appointment time, I got a text telling me Dr. Friedman was "in my waiting room" with a link that didn't work and a voicemail telling me to call the office to "take care of my appointment." I couldn't even get in touch with the office because it was before their opening time at 8:30, so I just had to wait, fuming because I thought I had missed my appointment entirely. The next two hours was a back and forth about how my appointment would happen: they sent another link that didn't work, then said they would call, then eventually asked if they could FaceTime, which I'm sure is some sort of HIPAA violation. When I told the staff member who had left me a voicemail that I couldn't call him back because it was before office hours, he just said, "Oh right, I forgot about that :)" I couldn't help but just stare at him in disbelief over FaceTime. I could barely hear Dr. Friedman over the video call, and he told me my most recent sleep study did not show I had sleep apnea (???) and that he was recommending two "quick, easy" outpatient operations to address...something? I didn't know what the root cause was, and the visit summary notes were convoluted and listed multiple issues that he didn't mention over the call. I cancelled the appointment two days before because I really felt like I was being pressured into it. I was not notified of potential side effects, why I was having an operation, or even what operation specifically I was having, and when I called the office to ask the name of the operation, the receptionist couldn't tell me and seemed annoyed that she would have to put me through to the medical staff. I will be happily going somewhere else.

Most doctors I have been to just want to get you in and out fast to bill as many appointments as possible, but Dr. Golbin is not like that.
