I wasn't sure what to expect as I thought you may or may not see koalas, but it was one of the best interactions we had with koalas. We started in the info center to review the displays and educated ourselves about koalas. They have an elevated boardwalk which allows you to be 'in the trees' with the koalas. Their koalas are rescued from various situations and while they are free to come and go, they seem to stay because they have a great gig. We saw koalas sleeping, eating, walking, climbing,... given they sleep 20 hours of the day, I was so excited that we saw them so active. They had a wonderful volunteer that ensured the visitors stayed a safe distance from the koalas but also helped us learn more about these super cute animals. We also walked the nature trail and saw a ton of birds and several wallabies. The gift shop had several great options and we bought a cute book for our granddaughter. Great stop. read more

Such an exciting interesting place to visit! Our tour brought us here for the afternoon to walk through the area and experience the trails, trees and see some koalas in their home. Learned a lot here, all the money raised goes into research, environment and educational programs. Staff is super invested and wants to be here helping these super cool animals. Walking on the pathway looking for these adorable koalas was a lot of fun. They were east to spot, but majority of the time they were sleeping or moving at their slow pace enjoying life. After walking through the visitor's center with displays about koala's and other native animals and birds you can walk on a number of boardwalk trails to get up close to the koalas. Some are high in the trees but others hang out right at eye level. It is amazing how they can scratch their backs with their hind legs. I wish I could do that. There are wallabies nearby and many birds. There is a gift shop and cafe in the center. This was a very worthwhile stop of our tour of Phillip Island. read more

It's a bit misleading , I actually thought you would get to see koalas up close (and lots of them ) but Nup , the lady did explain to me what the place was and I guess I accepted that but it's basically a rescue sanctuary for koalas , I was happy to donate the money of the administration fee and walk around but I wouldn't be taking any kids there (or relatives visiting ) read more

If you want to see a Koala this is the place to go. We have done the "look through the woods with a guide and find them the hard way", but for closeness and numbers this is the place to come if you don't have the time for that. read more

What is there not to love about koalas?? It's a great natural environment to observe them in. Just follow the walkways and look up. I encountered a koala (I think it's the eldest one) that was AWAKE and had pretty good energy! It kept pacing, eating, and staring at all of us. Surprisingly, it wasn't scared of the crowd, but perhaps is accustomed to all of the spectators. Worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

I'd like to start this review with a disclaimer that I am not a hater of koalas. In fact, I love them, and I even appreciate the fact that they spend the better part of their day sleeping a whole bunch and do not exist purely for my entertainment. And yet, when Koala Conservation Centre signs tell me that the park is "infested" with koalas, and I spot a total of three (only one that I could see without my glasses, and all with their backsides turned to the walkways), it's difficult to be anything but disappointed. Full price admission is normally $10.80, but thankfully this was already included as part of our three parks pass, making the experience slightly less annoying. The only good things to come out of our trip here were a nice walk among the gumtrees, and a cozy jacket from the gift shop. read more

Went here with my family and was greeted not so pleasantly by some very anti-social receptionists who were visibly on their personal mobile phones... pretty disappointing. However, once we got into the actual centre, we did spot SOME koalas. It is very much about the timing unfortunately and we were not able to see the supposed 6 that were in the enclosure. We did get to see a fee koalas up close but overall quite pricy for what it was. Would definitely improve customer service and communication skills as we were left a little confused. Good to see koalas up close - and sometimes the odd wallaby as well... but it's a bit small. I had driven past the Koala Conservation Centre a few times on past trips to Phillip Island, and the last few times we decided to actually stop in. We had some overseas visitors with us and thought it would be a good way to be able to get some nice pics of koalas up close. Thankfully it is, and you can walk around on the raised boardwalks and see a number of koalas. There is even a short walk around the end of the park that might get you to spot some wallabies. There is some good information in the centre as well - definitely worth a read if you want to brush up on your history of the island, and the koalas as well. Unfortunately the park is quite small, and besides the gift-shop and cafe, what I have outlined is pretty much it. The cafe is not great - even for this part of the world. Unless it's hot out and the kids (or you) want an ice cream... I'd skip it altogether. read more

At first I didn't think I would see any koalas up close, but as we went on through the park we saw 2 koalas in a low tree right near the path. They were sleeping, we got many great pictures. We came back through later and they were awake and eating, moving around the tree. Would suggest going later in the day since the koalas are most active at sunset. They woke up around 4:30, the park closes at 5pm. read more

Great nature park to see koala's and wallaby's. While I agree with the previous reviewer that I had hoped I would see more koalas that we did, it was still a great experience. We must have visited on a better day, as we were able to see koalas and joeys in several of the trees close to the walking path and got some great pictures. read more

Good fun if quiet busy. We saw all the treetop koalas and a few wallabies. Was fun to see who would spot them first.

Walk on a boardwalk. Find the koalas hanging out in the trees, some quite close to the walkways. However, unlike the Koala Park in Sydney there is no real interaction with the animals. This is understandable since the main goal of the KCC is the rescue and rehabilitation of koalas and the education of the public while KP is more of a zoo. So while an important and lofty goal, the animals in KCC are somewhat removed. read more

You can see koalas so close you could touch them, but of course you aren't allowed. Great bargain at $11 to see so many koalas so up close and not behind enclosures. Adorable baby koala too! Great for photos. Saw probably 10 koalas and 5 were within arm's reach! read more
