Geographically this place is placed smack dab in the middle of old run down trailer homes as far as the eye can see. I was looking to camp in one of there dry camp sites for the weekend. As I approached the front desk, Karen I think that was her name, acted like she was full and this was like getting a room at a 5 star luxury hotel. LOL This wasn't the place, run down. As I smelled alcohol and cigarettes on here breathe from across the counter. This place is in need of an update and wasn't a safe place to be. I'd try somewhere else this isn't the place you are looking for. You also can't dry camp for more than one night here. Which isn't on their website anywhere. I would stay here if my life depended on it. A few of their regular RV folks walked in with 2 teeth and smelled like they hadn't taken a shower in a month. I guess the showers aren't working here as well. To top it off Karen approached my car and made a snide remark as I made this review. Just find another place to camp. This isn't the place you are looking for.

I can recommend that someone might park overnight, but you have to watch out for the potholes and gullies in the poorly leveled gravel roads. Currently, there are such insane restrictions and rude, unethical and unprofessional management that it is simply not a pleasant place to stay.

I will say, we…read morehave a 25 ft camper/8 ft bed truck and the pull thru campsites that are waterfront are rough. A steep slope to get in/out and not level. There were a few campsites that looked like people stay there all season (little dog fences, lights, signs in yard, etc.) Overall though the campground is so pretty! A lot of trails to walk. During season you can rent canoes and kayaks. Bev at the front office was super nice and helpful. Called and let us know we could check in early. Would recommend to others but would I would definitely pick a different campsite next time (52) just because of the slope to get in/out and not being level (but the view from this site is beautiful!!)

The lake front spots are our favorite and we love that the kids can carry their kayaks into the water on their own. You can rent boats from a local dock 10ish minutes away driving if you don't have one, or you can put your boat in not far and keep it near your site in the water. The bathrooms are relatively clean and hook ups and water are fine. The only complaint we have is that there are tons of ants everywhere. If you drop food, they will find it. Last year they tried to climb up our jacks and get into our camper so we always try to remember to bring any spray. There is a ton of goose poop around the sites by the water but we just use bags we use for the dog's poop and throw it away so we don't step on it.

I would have left earlier if we could get into our next campground earlier. We have been RVing full time for 3 years now, so we have been around. We are a family with 5 respectful kids 13 to 2. We felt SO disrespected here and like we were constantly looking over our shoulders. The manager makes through our tiny pull through touching our stuff multiple times. My 5yo knows to stay out of others sites! My husband and I are pretty chill, but this was ridiculous and way over the top! She and a friend walked into our site and were peeking in and touching our Clam and when my husband went out they tried to pass it off as being interested in getting one. Another time, she walked through our little site, commented to herself on our 2yo crying, and messed with our hammock. The third time we had a window open by our door and she came over, stuck her head in, and started looking around and talking to my husband. Then said she had complaints of our campsite being to messy. We had our Clam with 3 chairs in it, a wagon, 4 bikes, hammock, and 3 things sitting on our table. My husband said, "Really??" and she quickly walked away. Because of our interactions with her and her comments of others complaining about our supposed mess,we did not feel welcome. I gave 2 stars because we did feel safe here. It wasn't totally ghetto. There are 0 kid amenities. No pool, playground, etc. There is a coin op laundry and a small fenced dog area. All of the roads and sites are covered in rocks (not gravel) which make it super hard to pull a wagon, ride a trike, etc. Of you stop over, stay in your camper and don't even set a flower pot outside. We won't be visiting again under this management.

Let me start off by saying this campground is difficult at best to find any information about…read moreonline. I tried to go to their website off several searches and nothing came up that was valid. I had been told about this site when passing through the area because of their water views and fair pricing. I was fortunate that the phone number on the site at least worked so I could find them. If you follow GPS, I wish you luck, if yours does what mine did it took me in circles and then kept saying rerouting. I opted to call the campground and their directions were so much more simplistic. With all that being said, once I arrived the tent camping here was nice. My site was level and on one of the many roads of camping. I was no where near the water, but that was ok because my site seemed to be far enough away from louder traffic which was going in and out of the marina area so that made my stay a bit more pleasant. I decided to talk a walk around camp and it seemed like there had been some upgrades around the campsite, still other areas looked like they still needed a bit of work. Specifically in the way of the long term campers area which looked a bit junky in some areas. I noticed that some of the RV paths had long hoses reaching across to access water, I am not sure if that was because their water wasn't working or if there were not enough spigots available. It looked like there were many using piggy backs. The playground looked fairly new, the restaurant which floats on the water smelled delicious from a distance and the restrooms were very clean. The staff was so friendly on my stay, someone drove past on a golf cart to welcome me when I had settled in and we had a great chat to which they told me there is a continued effort to make improvements to better accommodate campers including a project to potentially widen the roads on the RV loops. This place has some great potential but isn't quite there yet. I am interested in keeping up with this place to see how it changes over time. TIPS: * When you are in this area you are near 2 state parks which have a lot of hiking and water options as well. Both of these can be traveled to via boat from the marina. * In Rocky Top there is a very interesting historical exhibit to visit about the miners and the war which took place with these miners.
