At first, I was told it would be completed by late July. Then I was told it would be completed in late August...finally in mid September, they told me they couldn't do the job. Since then, I have been waiting to get my deposit back. Every week Bill Baril says my money will be coming next week, but it never happens. Thus, I spent some time looking him up in the BC Court System at justice.gov.bc.ca and found the following cases and the corresponding amount claimed against Bill and his business in ONLY THE LAST YEAR: URAL LINK LTD. v PREMIUM GRANITE WORKS INC ($83,925) 9859870 CANADA INC. v BARIL, William ($34,893) ROYAL BANK OF CANADA v BARIL, William ($64,914) DESIGN NINE LTD v PREMIUM GRANITE WORKS INC ($5,200) PENTCO INDUSTRIES INC v PREMIUM GRANITE WORKS INC ($8,216) WORKERS' COMPENSATION BOARD v PREMIUM GRANITE WORKS INC ($34,514) COOK, Rodney v PREMIUM GRANITE WORKS INC ($35,000) 624925 BC LTD v PREMIUM GRANITE WORKS INC ($19,216) Additionally, it now appears that Julie Baril (Bill's Daughter) of business 1404929 BC Ltd (DBA Premium Granite Works) has now taken over for Bill Baril and says that the "new" Premium Granite Works has no obligation to me, as its a different business.

I finally got confirmation that what I was looking for was available but when I asked for final quote on install and a hole cut in for the sink, no response again. This is a reasonable request. I sent an email asking for a formal quote and got a response saying they didn't have my quartz and to check somewhere else. This came one day later. I'm not sure how these people stay in business. Not happy!

To give him the benefit of the doubt I realized that he has a language barrier and perhaps he misunderstood me during the preliminary assessment as I indicated I wanted a "lock" for security on the inside of the gate of my patio. He gestured that he would install a sliding lock during the preliminary assessment BUT that's not what I got. There was something else he did while building the gate that caused me to question his honesty. Even though my gut feeling was off I still proceeded being new to Peachland I really wanted a gate for security purposes. I regret that I paid him in full at the end however he promised he would return and if I had a problem with anything. The lock he gave me wasn't easy to use - fiddling with a small key in the frosty mornings was difficult. He refused to exchange the pad lock and install the sliding lock - sadly we were unable to resolve the issue. In the end I did purchase a sliding lock however Johann still wouldn't reply to my offer to resolve. I found a local handy man that offered to come over and install it for free. It made me happy in the end. I have a very kind and honest handy man here in Peachland and now I'm happy.
