I have had fibromyalgia for 20 years, and have been dealing with perimenopausal symptoms for a couple of years along with an imbalance of my hormones associated with fibromyalgia for the last 5-8 years where I basically felt half dead. I had lost hope, and joy in everything in life. My bloodwork came back showing that my testosterone was pretty low. I received my pellets in early November, and while they said it could take 6 weeks to 6 months to really notice, I noticed at about the end of the first week after receiving them. I'm pretty sensitive to these things. It is now almost January, and my energy has skyrocketed, I'm starting to feel like my self again. It was approx. 45 min drive w/ nice scenery.) Note: Dr. Allen's old office was at Fort Collins Neurology. His former partner, Dr. Curiel, has since retired. When I started seeing Doctor Allen approx. 7 years ago for chronic neuropathic pain and myoclonic seizures, I was being prescribed 6 drugs by other doctors. Thanks to Dr. Allen, I'm now down to half the amount. Also, Dr. A. encouraged me to use acupuncture to help reduce my neuropathic pain. This non-invasive mode of treatment has changed my life. Here's an added bonus: a therapy dog at the office! This wonderful pup brightened my day. If you have an opportunity to meet the office's therapy dog, I guarantee it'll brighten your day, too! Timothy Jay Allen, a psychiatrist formerly practicing at Fort Collins Neurology, was suspended on March 15, pending further action by the Board. The Board took the emergency action over concern that Allen "used his medical license, along with his position of trust and supervision over medical students, to engage in prescription drug diversion" by asking students to fill prescriptions in their names and then give the drugs to him for his use. Based on the information the Board reviewed, and following Allen's appearance at a pre-suspension hearing, the Board concluded it had "objective and reasonable grounds to believe and finds that [Allen] deliberately and willfully violated the Medical Practice Act and/or that the public health, safety, or welfare imperatively requires emergency action." A summary of the inquiry leading to the suspension is found in the Board's Order of Suspension, posted and open to public view on the state Department of Regulatory Agencies website.

Neck and hand pain improved…read more My neck mobility and hand/finger numbness increased this past spring significantly by my excessive gardening. I was not sleeping well with spasms in my hand at night. After about 6 months of trying to remedy myself, I thought I'd try physical therapy. I wanted a place that was near my home, familiar and not so crazy busy like other practices. The office staff was super friendly and easy to work with. Kelsey was my primary PT and provided good movement/stretches that I could do at home. He individually focused on me during my sessions. The pain/numbness is lessened and mobility much improved. Since I was going to have surgery for the toes I thought I would have the bunnion corrected at that time. MISTAKE! They really screwed up my foot. Even after the surgery they had to cut a toe open to further correct the hammer toe My big toe now has overlapped two toes next to it and is turning them. I went back several times to see what they could do about it. What they did was after a few visits they asked me to go somewhere else since I was not happy with them. I have since gone to a good podiatrist and they tell me there is nothing that can be done to correct what a step ahead has done. A step ahead gave me some silicone(?) devices to push my big toe away from the others but after a few hours they hurt so bad I can't wear them anymore that day. And it will never correct the problem. I wish I could post a picture to show you how bad they really screwed my foot up.
