I hired this company to inspect a house before we closed on it and they ended up costing me over…read more$3,000 because they failed to do basic tasks. The freezer door was leaking water and they failed to even notice that and actually wrote the dispenser was in good working order. They said the ice maker was working and when we turned it on it was spewing water all over the inside of the machine creating an ice block. After we had these items looked at by two separate vendors they both said these items would have been seen by any person if they merely turned on the ice maker and opened the freezer door. I spoke with the owner and he claims he cannot be held responsible for his workers negligence according to his contract and the most I can recover from him is $500. He handed it over to his insurance company and now I am getting the runaround with them. Bottom line if they told me they weren't capable of inspecting these items I would have hired someone else to inspect the appliances and I wouldn't be out $3,000. Unbelievable how companies like this stay in existence!

I contacted Joey via a referral and interviewed him on the phone as I did other inspectors. His Fire Dept. experience impressed us as who knows better than firemen the weak spots in homes and what to look for? Joey did a wonderful inspection and forwarded his results to us that afternoon. It was not his fault but he was unable to inspect the attic as the homeowner had left a vehicle blocking the attic access point. The next day, after the agents contacted one another and the home owner, Joey returned and did the attic and upper structural inspection. He did not gripe one time nor did he ask for more money for the 2nd trip out to the house. He was extremely professional whenever I spoke to him and his reports were clear and concise and easily understandable. I highly recommend PURUS HOME INSPECTIONS and Joey. My daughter had used Ellis for her home inspection and intensely encouraged me to get a home inspection even though it is a brand new home. Boy was she right. Ellis caught things with plugs not working amongst issues with brand new appliances. My advice if you are buying a home: contact Ellis.
