A splendid spot for a stop, and to find out more about how wool mills operated in the past.
They have volunteers that work as guides around the mill. I do recommend you call ahead though and let them know when you are coming, so they can be there for your arrival, if you want one.
This location is recently (2009 or so) renovated from a warn down, abandoned mill. They have done a splendid job with the renovation.
On display are many illustrations of how things were, including a display of the 14 layers of wall paper (original) that layer upon layer got put on upon itself.
There are many different rooms and buildings that show the different stages of turning raw sheep wool, all the way to a finished product (like scarves, etc.),
If you local color and historical perspectives of how things use to be, this is a lovely place to visit. But I'd recommend you call ahead to let them know when you would plan to arrive. read more
