I'm glad that I found this place in Port Austin! I love horseback riding, and my son had never been, so we headed to the farm. No reservations are needed, so you may have to wait a little, but the experience is worth the wait. It is $25 per adult for an approximately hour long guided group ride through a beautiful trail. It winds around a creek that you will cross twice on horseback, which I thought was really cool. Bring cash as they do not accept cards, and there's no ATM on site. I found this out the hard way. But if you do forget, there's an ATM about a mile north at a gas station. This is a beautiful farm, and the horses are well cared for. The staff is friendly and helpful. The old dude who runs the farm was awesome - picture a crusty dude that doesn't take any sh*t, knows his stuff, and has a wicked sense of humor. He sizes up each rider based on their experience and physical size/capabilities, and chooses the right horse for you - out of about 45 horses. He knows what he's doing. My son, a first time rider, was saddled up on a gentle mare named Goldie, while I was given a huge, gorgeous Morgan stallion named Denver as my mount. It became clear immediately that Denver was one of the "alpha males" in the stable, because he positioned himself - and me - at the front of the pack of riders. He was a joy to ride, but he could also be too much for an inexperienced rider. Again, the owner knows his horses - and that's why it's important to be honest when they ask you about your experience. Don't be ashamed to say that you're inexperienced if that's the case, because you want to be safe and have a fun time. I just wish that I could have put Denver through his paces at full gallop, but that's not allowed. You are in a group - ours was rather large, maybe 30 riders - following the guide mostly single file through the trail. There is also a guide at the back of the pack, too. The guides do provide helpful and important information during the ride, which I appreciated even as an experienced - but rusty - rider. If you have little kids, they also offer pony rides for $5, and the ponies are adorable! If you're looking for a fun adventure in Port Austin away from the beach, this is the place. read more

This was a fun excursion for all ages and took about an hour on the trail with about 30-45 more minutes to get the horses harnessed and saddled. The trail you go on was super green with two creek crossing and through shaded or dappled sunlight. The staff was super friendly and were amazing with our whole group. Cash Only! This was my first experience riding since I was 12-13! Shelby and Mitch were our tour guides all day and did a fantastic job! We bought the buy two get the third ride free package for $50.00! Completely worth the money and experience. Would definitely go back and spend more time with the horses and guides! Shelby and Mitch were very informative and were great conversationalists for being young. We were able to Trot and Canter a bit and loved our horses! Oh my...our experience was not great. The owner was extremely rude, and unhelpful. The trail was nice (as well as the horses)and we had fun besides the constant rudeness to our entire group. The only other good thing was the stories we had of the grouchy guy yelling at us. read more

The Knoblock Riding Stable is a great place! I go there at least 3-4 times a week and stay there all day and scoop poop at the end of the day. i was at this place on july 13 2014 and had a very bad expreince. my girlfriends horse had its bit fall off and the horse tossed her in the air and she broke her back and neck. there was a 12 year old girl as out guide and she lost the cell phone and that was her main concern. i mounted off my horse and as i did to render help to her my horse ran after the horse that lost the bit. i had to jump off the horse and crushed two disk and pinched a nerve in my back. i have alot of medical bills and the stable does not have insurance and they refuse to settle or pay anything toward the medical bills. im still in pain and its not getting better. how can this place operae without insurance and why a 12 year old guide that was the owners granddaughter? i would not recommend this place to anyone cause they feel they have no liabilty or concern for there customers. i havnt got a call to see how we are doing. this place needs to be shut down for good. read more
