Recently bought a rifle from there, they were polite, knowledgeable, and professional. Would definitely shop there again.

Good service, but I needed to bargain about the coins I got. I'm new to going to a pawn shop. I'm also new to collecting coins

Ive been in here quite a few times now. They have a little bit of everything for such a small…read morestore. It really shocked me. There isn't much that they don't have. I had talked to them before about getting something that I couldnt find ANYWHERE local. (To be fair they did have an older model in a different configuration. Which was better than places 10x the size of new American. But they didn't have the one I was looking for) They told me that I could look up the prices for shipping one to them and they would see if they could order one then match the price or if it would be better for me to just have it shipped to them. (Which by the way they have a great price on transfers) But after going in there a few times I decided to just let them order it for me regardless of the price (within reason) as I want to support local businesses that stand up for the second amendment. (Plus this is just a really cool shop.) When I went in to actually order it, one of the older guys pointed me to a fella named Duncan. He sat on the computer for at least half an hour looking for EXACTLY what i wanted. He didn't stop when he found something close enough. Which in truth I would have gotten the one that was close. And I told him I would be fine with that but he said if I had a second to wait he would check some other places to see if he could get exactly what I wanted. And he sure enough did. He found EXACTLY what I wanted. He was very friendly, enthusiastic about guns and he was knowledgeable about what he was talking about. After everything was said and done I even got it at a good price. Like I said before I went in with the intention of having them order it. assuming that I would more than likely end up spending a couple dollars more but they treated me really good and the manager ended up giving it to me for about $20-$30 cheaper than if I ordered it online! Everytime I've been in there I have either gotten what I came for or learned what I needed. Everyone there seems to genuinely be excited about what they do. I haven't ever felt like I'm being pressured into buying anything or had the feeling that they were trying to upsell me on something I didn't need. It's an awesome shop. Oh and If you have any questions about AK's, Pat is THE MAN. He answered every question I had and even tought me a couple things I didnt know. Most gun stores have no clue about them other than whats on the tag. So to go into a gun store and find someone that actually knows about AK's is really nice. I found out about New American from the youtube channel speed limit trains. So if you are curious about what they have look him up on YouTube. It was nice to see what all they were selling before making the hr long trip up there. So check this place out if you're looking at getting something new. Oh and shout out to the lady that does the paperwork and runs the register, Vivian. She is as nice as she can be and she always knows the best deal on ammo in the shop! And if new American arms sees this. Give Duncan, Pat and Vivian a pat on the back. They truly make going in there a pleasure.

This is a massive Dick's store, spreading over two floors, located at Short Pump Town Center. It is…read morevery clean and organized. They have good for all sports and activities, just like most other Dick's store. There shoe section is one of the biggest one I have ever seen in a Dick's store. Checkout registers are available on both ends of the store, very convenient for customers exiting from two ends of the store. As I explored the store, found some really good World Cup merchandises. Some of them I had not seen before in other places. My family members also found some shoes they liked. The staff members were very helpful, assisting us with finding sizes and trying out the shoes. But some shoes and apparels seemed to be pricier or do not have discounts that the brand would have, ie: Adidas shoes were cheaper on their website than at Dicks. Overall I was very impressed with the quality, inventory and service of this store.

I ordered cleats that were supposed to arrive 2 days later after talking with an employee. I later find out that they aren't going to arrive for another 3 weeks. The only reason I ordered was from them because of the fast shipment. I cannot cancel this order and really need these cleats asap. Never again.

First time here since it changed hands and I enjoyed it. Was going to GT but it's gotten too busy…read moreand some of the employees talk down to you. Glad to have another place to keep up on practice.

Freedom Outdoors is a welcome replacement for the old Colonial Shooting Academy in a great many…read moreways, and frankly we are lucky to get a new range option in a region without many of them. To avoid going through this review like I have a chip on my shoulder, I'll say it straight: I did not like Colonial at all, and Freedom Outdoors does everything so much better. Excellent staff who aren't rude or combative for no reason, reasonable range rules, and clean shooting bays without weird columns in the middle make this place an ideal destination. The biggest change is the staff, particularly the RSOs: they are cool and focused on making sure everything is safe but also without micromanaging every shooter. The one I interacted with during my range time was friendly and answered my questions without issue. The counter staff were quite busy but still processed me quickly. The shooting bays are quite nice, with a nice polished wood area to lay your guns while not in use and to do reloading, though they also have a few chairs behind the bays for that too. They use the standard electronic "fly in, fly out" target system where you can bring it in to attach paper targets and then send it to a distance of your choice. I was surprised the place wasn't busier for a Saturday, though that made my life easier since I wanted a somewhat calmer spot to test my new gun. I did not rent any of their guns this time though they appeared to have a good number of them. I didn't spend much time in their store, though they have a decent selection of firearms and accessories, with an ammo section in a separate room that I did shop from. One thing I noticed is that most of their firearm offerings are more common ones, as compared to the huge revolver collection that was here with Colonial. My one gripe is the cost of a lane: $30 for an hour for one person (or even their $50 for 2 people) is a lot of money. Their only competitor in the area is Green Top, which is $25 for an hour for one person and $40 for two. Essentially there are a few things worth paying the extra money for if you choose to come here: proximity to where you live (Green Top is a bit of a drive north), a calmer shooting experience (assuming it stays the way it is now), the chance of getting to shoot for a little longer than an hour if they aren't busy, and the fact that they are cool with you shooting full-auto/binary. For example, if I wanted to teach someone how to shoot, rent a full-auto or shoot my binary, or planned to shoot a LOT of ammo, I would choose Freedom. If I just wanted to get some basic shooting in with a friend who already knew how to shoot, I might go with Green Top purely because it's cheaper. Ultimately, it's up to you whether it's worth the drive to save $10. Super glad to have Freedom Outdoors in our backyard and will definitely return again soon! ---- Overall: 4.5 stars Pros: - Excellent range staff, top-notch RSOs. - Range rules are fair and non-restrictive. - Nicely-redone bays make for a pleasant (dare I say upscale?) experience. - Good selection of rentals, equipment, etc. - Same excellent parking lot as their predecessors. Cons: - $50 is a lot for an hour's entertainment, but in the circumstances I've outlined above, it's well worth it.

THE MOST UNQUALIFIED PERSON WORKING AT THE GUN COUNTER…read more I looked online for ammo specials and I saw Blazer 9mm ammo for $14.99. I drive down there and she Mike at the gun counter if they had any, because I didn't see any where the 9mm ammo is. He said "We don't have any". I told him that was odd because it was clearly on the website. He looked bothered about my question and he responded " They might come in tonight" and that the website doesn't update. I said ok and continued shopping. As I was walking I saw a display full of the Blazer 9mm ammo as advertised. I thought WTH! Mike just told me Academy never received a shipment. I bought some. I then picked up a soft rifle case for my new .22. I asked Mike if he had a Winchester Wildcat I can see to measure my new case, he immediately said "NO". I walked over to the .22's and the first thing I saw was a Wildcat. He has no clue and didn't bother to check. He got the rifle and attempted to disengage the bolt which he was unsuccessful. He didn't see the bolt release. Lol! You can't make this up!! He helped me measure but in our conversation he said "I don't own any firearms" but you're working in the firearm section right? Mike has no clue about anything in the firearm section and should be transferred to another section of the store. Anything but firearms and knives.
