Ecoline Windows has installed a front door and 6 windows in our house. (3 separate occasions)…read more Their website offers a lot of information to answer any questions you may initially have. Initially we received quotes from three companies. Ecoline was chosen based on customer reviews and customer service. To receive a free quote for services, an appointment can be booked online. Afterwards, a customer service representative will contact you to confirm the appointment. The communication is very good and they follow up with an email confirmation. We have worked with three different salesmen who were friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to answer questions and provide suggestions to best suit our home and budget. They can also provide information on financing through Manitoba Hydro. A second appointment was booked to acquire measurements and we were given an estimate for delivery and installation. Communication was kept while we were waiting for installation by text/email. Once the window was ready, we were given an appointment date within a week. The staff arrived on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up upon completion. One window had a small gap in the seal and the window was promptly removed and replaced. We have no issues with the quality and service of our items. We have had no need for warranty/aftercare, but do not foresee any issue based on previous communications and service. Our first windows were installed more than 5 years ago and the most recent one in October 2023. We have noticed an improvement in how warm or cool our house is kept through the improvement process. We have 2 more windows and 1 door to replace and will be using Ecoline in the future.

However, on the second occasion the installer workmanship, particularly with caulking, was terrible and left the front of my home looking awful. I have pictures. Huge beads of caulking were smudged unevenly around the windows and chunks of caulking were left on the boards no where close to where it should be. The cedar siding was ruined. The project manager came by and said it would be fixed saying they would use remove the caulking and use a clear product or cover it with trim board. I mistakenly paid in full as an unsatisfied customer (NEVER DO THAT!). By the following Spring nothing had been done about the problem so I took care of it myself and sent bill to Canadian Choice Windows for $300 to cover materials and time ($20/hr). It was essentially ignored. I called to speak with the project manager who referred me to the installer who said they had already purchased the materials to fix my home so couldn't reimburse me. He sounded like he was making excuses and has unfortunately eroded my trust in the company. For perspective this was on a $13,000 order. I have recently purchased a rental property and Canadian Choice Windows and Doors will NOT be my choice for that renovation. Sad really because the experience was good up to that point and the people, aside from the guy with the caulking gun and the installation manager not rectifying the mistake, did a good job. A poor business decision on their part.

He advised us to clad it, so just cover it up? We paid almost 5500.00 dollars for these windows! I feel completely taken advantage of, can you send someone other than the installer to check this out? We are not satisfied with his explanation...he said it was cold and the rot was frozen! Really?? Thanks, Kathy Curtis

We've been dealing with Nisby for the last 2 years and it's been nothing but utter disappointment…read more Their work is horrible, the facia on the garage came off and was dangling for months, screws backing out, loose siding, damaged shingles, dents in various spots and leaking gutters just to name a few. They've come back several times to "fix" their work but were still left with a crap job and disappointments. If you can't do a decent job or hire decent contractors please don't take peoples hard earned money. If you wanna pay a company for good work and a good price THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY FOR YOU. TRULY REGRET using Nisby and I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

The plumber took nearly two weeks to finish bathroom reno because he had other jobs going on...Painting in bathroom started pealing only after 5 months. There is probably more but my inlaws are probably to embarassed to tell us because they were taken in by this supposedly reputeble company. Anyone looking for a job should probably watch 5 episodes of Holmes on homes and be better qualified to do the jobs that were done at my inlaws.

Canadian Choice Windows & Doors

Our home was built in 1946. Our windows were from the 60's or 70's with the exception of the living…read moreroom window from 1987. The doors were also old. We got quotes from a couple of different places. Igor from Canadian Choice was very transparent with us and he was the first person to tell us about any government rebates on home upgrades that improve energy efficiency. He was very friendly and quick to reply to our messages. All of our new windows and doors were built specifically to match the dimensions of the old ones. We did however request a larger window for the kitchen. Adnan, Harley and Matt did the installations. Very friendly and very professional. Everything looked properly insulated and sealed from the outside elements. They laid tarp on our floors and cleaned up afterwards. In total they replaced 11 windows and 2 doors within the day. Due to the age of our house we have plaster walls and they vary in thickness. When cutting out the old windows, some of the plaster had chipped at the edges, and because of the varying wall thicknesses, two of our windows have a 6-7mm gap on one side between the inner wall and inner window bezel. This is a fault of our house construction and not of the windows or installation. Our old windows also had bottom ledges so there are empty spaces where they once were. These are areas we'll need to patch up and re-paint ourselves. Just something to be aware of if you have an old home. Overall we're very impressed with the quality of work and professionalism from everyone we dealt with at Canadian Choice. Visually, everything is so much better than before. The windows are clearer, and easier to clean and operate. The doors look amazing and they were even able to get our front doorbell working again. More importantly, we shouldn't be having anymore drafts, leaks, mould, etc. We're hoping to see a significant decrease in our winter hydro bills.

FOUR-SEASON BLISS CANADIAN CHOICE WINDOWS (12) and DOORS (3)…read more(all installed in Oct 2019) have performed admirably during their first 4 seasons. The oak-vinyl windows, trimmed with oak casing, add a warm cozy feeling to our home. AUTUMN & WINTER: The windows remained absolutely clear even during the coldest months. No drafts, no fogging-up, no sweating, no interior frost build-up, and no ice accumulation around or at the bottom of the frame. Even the basement windows remained clear and problem-free. THE BEST PART: We never had to caulk or reseal any of the windows. We could easily and effortlessly open /close any window in mid-winter without any issues, and they still locked & sealed perfectly. ENERGY EFFICIENT: With all other electricity usage factors being the same during the winter, we paid an average of $45 less per month due to these draft-free Canadian Choice windows and doors. SPRING & SUMMER: The window-crank system is a breeze to use and every component (seals, crank, inner triple pane seals, locking mechanism) remain fully functional and intact. The windows are easy to wash inside and out. The handsome screens blend very well and seamlessly with the rest of the window - color wise and structure wise. They are a tad difficult to mount as they are very tight, but they "snap" in place with no unsightly hooks or tabs. THE DOORS performed perfectly as well. No ice build-up, no drafts, and they all opened and closed super smoothly, even during the winter. FAVORITE WINDOWS: KITCHEN AWNING: We love to be able to open this window during the winter (especially during hot baking days) and the ability to keep the window open while it rains. In this location, awning performs better than casement, offering a clear, unobstructed view. BAY WINDOW: With both side casement windows open, it feels like you are outside without being exposed to mosquitoes. This huge unit never cracked or fogged up, and the side windows remained condensation-free, frost-free, and ice-free during cold spells. We thoroughly enjoy our beautiful Canadian Choice Windows & Doors. The quality is top-notch, without any issues. We had a minor problem with the retractable screen of one storm door, but Canadian Choice is in the process of repairing it, free of charge, in a timely manner. This proves that they stand behind their products and honor guarantees. We highly recommend and are deeply grateful to Canadian Choice for providing our first wonderful, trouble-free, maintenance-free experience after 32 frustrating years with horrible All-Weather windows. By what we have observed in this past year, Canadian Choice Winnipeg, MB offers outstanding products plus exceptional, trustworthy, professional, and friendly service as well. Special thanks to Vlad and Faruk.

Doors were installed later and nothing but problems from the first day. The front door is crocked in the frame and is warped. It took 5 service calls to be able to close the door by placing several pieces of foam around the door frame without solving the door problem. All doors then began dripping from the top where i later discovered there was no spray foam from the installers. Repairman refused to check the door frames and said it was condensation from the house. Patio garden doors have swollen, and this will be the third replacement if we ever get them. 8 service calls for these doors. 1/4 inch gap around the doors and the swelling means we will be going through winter with a door we can't use. The replacements were promised were ordered in july. Speaking to xxxxxx in service on at least 3 occasions she said they were not in and she went to check in the warehouse for them. I found out early October they have not been ordered. District manager would look into it. 2 weeks later xxxxxx arrived to look and said he would return to once again measure the doors but we would have to wait until spring possibly for the replacements. October 27 I found out the service department is closed until march. You would think for $27,000 they would want to have some sort of service and quality. Between cancelled appointments and stringing us along it has been an aggravating costly mistake dealing with this company. What's next with this company? Update as of March 1/2023. They are not BBB accredited and refuse to answer any complaints directed to them from BBB.
