I came in with my heart…read moreset on a raspberry pastry, but thanks to a little lost-in-translation moment, I ended up with guava instead. And honestly? I have absolutely no regrets. The guava pastry was incredible. The crust was light, buttery, and had this soft, slightly sweet texture that reminded me of a fresh donut. The guava filling was warm, rich, and perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. One bite in, I completely forgot I had wanted raspberries. The display case was packed with beautiful pastries and cheesecakes, making it hard to choose just one. The café had a lively neighborhood feel, and despite the language mix-up, the experience was warm and welcoming. Sometimes the best travel experiences happen by accident, and this dessert was one of them. Kasalta turned a simple misunderstanding into one of my favorite sweet treats of my Puerto Rico trip. I'll definitely be back--and this time, I might order the guava on purpose.

The good thing first- the line goes through fairly quickly considering how busy they were the day I was there, Sunday July 19, 2026, and parking was plentiful. Service was fine, cleanliness was good. The bad. Way overpriced for this region. There are plenty of bakeries in Puerto Rico offering the same things at half the price. The worst. The food quality sucked. Jugo de China Natural usually means squeezed to order. It was squeezed ahead of time and served with ice without being asked. Fresh squeezed orange juice is best served room temp. A good one will still be a little foamy on the top with very low acidity Ham and Cheese on Mayorca Bread- a staple of PR breakfast. Traditionally served pressed with a little powdered sugar on top that caramelizes a little because of the pressing. This one had a ton of floury tasting powdered sugar on the top and bottom of the top and inside the top and bottom of the bread, not normal at all. And for whatever reason, mine was served with the insides of the bread out side but I saw others that weren't served that way. So strange. And the ham was oddly pale. Also, no knives or forks to be found, so the extra sugar was extra confusing Quesitos- I ordered 4 to take out. I should not have. They went straight to the trash. The dough was severely under baked and soggy yet the filling was dry and crumbly without barely any sugar on top to offset the cream cheese. Arroz con Dulce- overly sweet and watery. Also went straight to the trash. Should be a little thicker from the starch of the rice combining with the sweet milk as it cooks. It tasted like they cooked the rice separately and then added cinnamon, evaporated milk and a ton of sugar without heating it. Not even a hint of vanilla to be found. For $44 dollars before tip. It was straight disrespectful to tourists and locals alike. I hope they improve because there is nothing worst than a popular spot resting on the laurels of a good location PS- The Habichuelas Escabeche were good.

We rotated all three delicious dishes at least twice. Great chewy texture on the waffle, with more toppings than one could ask for. The benedict was a perfect mix of sweet, savory, and sea! But the cuban sandwich won the day. That roasted pork, girrrrlllll. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a full bar, too. Lovely jazz music for ambience, great vacation vibes. Split the delicious spring mix salad with crunchy prosciutto and figs followed by 12oz rib eye medium rare with a demi glace sauce and changed mashed sweet potatoes for regular mashed potatoes, served with seasonal vegetables of asparagus and green carrots, $48. I was nervous when I saw how thin the steak was, and the demi place looked like gravy. But the steak was a perfect medium rare and quite tasty. The sauce was different, but good. Ended the meal with a fruit tart $6.19, very good! Shout out to Aleisha for being our delightful waitstaff. Returned for Sunday brunch. Enjoyed Cafe latte, oj&vodka. Chocolate croissant and a delicious sandwich consisting of pan soboa roll, roasted pork shoulder, ham, swiaa, pickles and mustard maple syrup.$12.48.
