My esteemed opposite-gendered co-parent retained this firm to write up her own separation agreement…read moreAFTER we had mutually agreed to mediation. You wouldn't be blamed for thinking this is going to be a salty, negative review of Winkler, Kurtz & Winkler... but you would have thought wrong. Read on. Without this firm's talented legal team my ex probably could have taken advantage of ambiguous wording and non-expiring provisions. Though I agreed to this expertly composed and reasonably thorough contract without my own legal representation, it turned out to be as good or better than I could have done had I chosen to spend my own money (which I didn't have at the time) to let a handful of competing family law attorneys churn and burn our accounts while we argued over teacups and drapes. Ms. O'Hanlon is indeed skilled, compassionate and professional Thank you, Winkler, Kurtz and Winkler. I carry that separation agreement you wrote for my ex-wife everywhere I go, and it has always been one of my most treasured documents. Now that the divorce has been finalized, it's my own personal Magna Carta. Five stars.

He passed all my cases off to his Of Counsel, Jeff Basso, esq. Who is overwhelmed and weak in his representation style. He rarely speaks up to any judge or opposing counsel and accomplishes little to nothing. Unprepared, he would often email the night before detailing a next day court appearance. When I complained, Patrick McCormick started getting involved again but he was not up to date on all details and it was like having new representation. Do not be enticed by lower hourly rates than other mid sized law firms, because they more than make up for it in aggressive billing and a lot of "research and Philosophy" that requires a real looking over! Do not use!

I cannot recommend Karyn Villar enough…read more I was overwhelmed by the prospect of my divorce until I hired Karyn. From our first meeting, she demonstrated a deep understanding of the law and a clear, strategic approach to my case. Rather than dragging things out, she focused on smart, efficient solutions that delivered true value ensuring every step we took served a purpose without wasting time or resources. Karyn took the time to explain the legal complexities in plain language, which gave me immense peace of mind. Her professionalism in the courtroom and her ability to navigate difficult negotiations were impressive. I felt heard, respected, and well-represented from start to finish. Going through a divorce is an incredibly taxing experience, but Karyn made the process as smooth and manageable as possible. Thanks to her expertise, dedication, and clear focus on achieving the best possible outcome, I felt confident and supported throughout the entire process. If you need a lawyer who provides exceptional value, is highly skilled, and genuinely cares about their client's future, look no further.

I had finally had had enough and fired her pretty much at the end of my divorce or so I thought. when my new lawyer went over paperwork it cost me thousands of dollars to fix what she messed up and omitted wording and such to protect me. she also put stuff in that I would be responsible for without discussing the issue at all making me solely responsible. she rushes you into making decisions.

I genuinely question how this individual received a law degree or continues to hold a license to practice law. People told me a long time ago to drop him as my attorney, and I should have listened. I tried giving him multiple chances, hoping things would improve, but they only got worse. In terms of professionalism, communication, and handling a retainer, this was an absolute disaster. This attorney would yell at clients, curse during conversations, and constantly pressure clients to agree with the opposition instead of actually fighting for them. Rather than advocating for his clients, it felt like he was working against them. He even arrived late to my court appearance, which says everything about how seriously he takes his clients and their cases. What made the experience even worse was his behavior and language. He would use slang and stereotypical terminology depending on a client's ethnicity -- saying things like "papi" to Latino clients or referring to someone's child's mother as their "baby mama." It was disrespectful, inappropriate, and completely unprofessional. At one point, he even told me that neither I nor the mother of my children could be trusted. He also told me to bring him $500 in cash and "slip it to him" on the day of court, which completely crossed the line and made the entire situation feel shady and unethical. The overall experience was shocking, uncomfortable, and unacceptable. An attorney should make clients feel represented, respected, and professionally guided. This was the complete opposite. I would never recommend this attorney to anyone.
