Dear Lord, thank you for the taste of heaven that you sent to a tiny little town in Arkansas, called Judsonia....KJ's restaurant needs to set up pews on Wednesday's, cause the fried chicken is the best thing I've ever had in my life & is literally a life changing experience. Have enjoy KJ's food in the past but the service lately has been disappointing. Last time we went for breakfast, the service was slow, almost seeming as if we were an inconvienience. Today, we arrived around 11:15, sat at a table for 10-15 minutes with 3 different waitresses walking past us without stopping. One finally stopped at the table next to us and stood talking to the customers there but never turned to take an order from us. After she left the area, we walked out and drove to Searcy to eat our lunch. Sadly, it will be a while before we attempt to eat there again. read more

We ordered take out so we didn't get the entire experience. Food was great and customer service at the window was great. We ordered the chicken avocado wrap and KJ turkey BLT. Yummy. The line was busy so I walked in and no one was there to help us. (It may help to explain that our Rott was with us and there was no shade so we decided to call in the order) I understand that places are busy but there was a refrigerated case with delicious pies (we had a slice of coconut pie). Hidden gem just 5 minutes outside of Searcy! Great food and good service. We had a party of 8 and everyone was very pleased.

I have been here at least 100 times and I have never been disappointed. Once you taste the fried chicken you will be hooked. It's the special on Wednesdays. Usually pretty good but bad service today. Waitress indifferent and inattentive. Got order wrong and didn't bring complimentary bread because "I didn't think you'd want any." Plus loooong wait with no one else here. Turkey burger - yuck. Fried catfish was good. Cole slaw and hushpuppies good. Kids pizza "not good" per ordering child. Everything I have tried is excellent. I love the fried chicken on Wednesday. It's not like other restaurants. It's fresh and tastes home made. Not shipped in frozen. The sides are so tasty. I took my teenage grandson who is so picky and doesn't like anything and he loves the food. I couldn't believe it. He said it's his favorite place to eat. The only problem he has with the food is deciding on what to order. They are big enough portions that on most of the items you can share with someone or take ur home. It reheats beautifully. After reading Yelp's reviews, We Had planned to have breakfast, but arrived late at 10:35. They'd just stopped serving breakfast and we're now serving lunch. Disappointed, that we had to settled on lunch. I had the chicken fried steak with brown gravy and mashed potatoes and green beans on the side. Had them add 2 eggs on the side to make it "feel" more like breakfast. The chicken fried steak was good with the eggs. It really made it seem a bit more like breakfast for me. My wife had the BBQ sandwich, being quite disappointed that she didn't get breakfast. Her sandwich was a bit dry, but the BBQ was OK. She didn't eat more than half of the sandwich. My mashed potatoes were OK, but the green beans - don't bother, canned. The corn bread muffin was certainly nothing special, cold, and with no butter not very apetising. When we entered there were about half dozen people in the cafe eating. Every single empty table was covered with empty dishes. The cafe was quite clean, but clearly no one had cleared the tables for some time. There was no clean table to sit at. We had to bus and clean a table ourselves to have a place to sit. Once seated, service became better and was friendly and prompt, actually becoming enjoyable as I would expect from a family business. If I had been able to have ordered breakfast, the tables had been bussed and clean when we came in, and the green beans, mashed potatoes and muffin tasted better, I'd easily rate this cafe higher. Because of other's reviews, and ratings my impression is that we, hopefully, just caught them off their game. I'll try the restaurant a second time, next time in Searcy, AR to see if our experience improves. read more
