II would LOVE to thank Chris from the bottom of my heart. This guy kicked ass BIG time he was like the Terminator in T2. I had never needed nor met a lawyer. When my employer decided to lay me off this past spring, I quickly realized that finding another job/income source would not be easy due to my work limitations from an on-the-job injury. Add in the skyrocketing unemployment rate from the pandemic and I knew I needed professional assistance. So I started by reading the Yelp reviews of local worker's comp lawyers and submitted questions to several of them. All but one replied with a perfunctory "Call me." The only one who actually gave thoughtful responses to my questions was Christian Chambers of the Law Offices of John G Kiwan. I soon met with Christian at his office. He explained what would happen if we moved forward together and what payments my temporary disability status rated. His reassurance that I had a strong case (and knowing that he only gets paid if I get paid) made retaining his services an easy decision. I unfortunately had to go through workers' comp for an accident that I had. The system is broken. With that said, it takes A LOT of time--it can take up to 2 years to resolve or close the case. You really want someone to represent you well and make the 2 year road a bit easier, because, believe me, it gets seriously frustrating. Christian Chambers, my attorney, did a wonderful job. Be aware, they have a lot of cases, so their prompt response may not be as quickly as you would like, but eventually everything gets resolved. I had a very good experience with them. Workmans comp is difficult. In an instance everything in your life changes, your finances, your day to day and even your health. At one point in the beginning There had been some simple miscommunications and he and his office staff were busy, I felt lost helpless and alone. Since I expressed my concerns he assured me that he understood where I was coming from and would continue to help with my all around health and financial situation as much as he possibly could.
