This branch has modern decoration and ample seating options. Servers greet you as soon as you walk in, and serve you with various mezes including Ezme and tursu. They bring hot icli köfte to the table and it is excellent -- thin outer later and delicious filling. We had Antep lahmacun which was also excellent but we have to come back to try their doner, kebabs and desserts.

Boğaziçi Lokantası is a very good sample for those tremendous "Esnaf Lokantası"( little shop owners…read morelunch place) in Turkey. For those market places in all around Turkey, as in Anafartalar Çarsısı shop owners and surrounding of it and bureaucrats in old Ankara used to come this place since 1956. Although it changed it's character and turned out a bit more "touristic" nowadays, this is a unique sample for tasting great Turkish foods. It is not only kebaps or döner in Turkey. I am taken to a cafeteria style counter to choose from soups, veggies, rice and main course, there are 3-4 choices of each. You order, or in my case point at things, choose your table and they bring it to you. As I sit bread, cucumber mint yogurt sauce (creamy and refreshing), pickled beets (umm they are pickled beets), and tomato onion garlic spicy pepper spread (growing heat as you eat) is brought. Order my drink, tea (BECAUSE THERE IS NO ALCOHOL) I take my first bite and my food arrives. I skipped the soup as I have had soup with about every meal so far, my veggie was roasted eggplant w/ lamb sauce (very tender and full of flavor) the rice was a barley and rice mix in a light tomato sauce (I could have eaten a whole bowl of it, very delicious) and my main was a lamb shank (fall off the bone, juicy no herbs or spice but a strong lamb flavor). While no one spoke English (yay google translate) the staff was very nice and helpful. I was wearing my work clothes, business casual and that is good because everyone was dressed that or better. All in all a pleasant experience.

I think most of the kebabs same, so you can choose which one you like. That is, there is no special here I think. Soup was 8tl. You can also get stuffed meatball as an appetizer. Drink ayran you won't regret. Overall, good quality and normal prices with lots of free sides. Waiters can be more polite.
