My friends and I were going to make a sandal and wallet purchase and we were immediately received with deprecatory remarks from your security staff & team. One of the younger gentleman at the entrance made a poor comment prior to opening the door for us during a pouring afternoon in Mexico City. The judgement was clearly a derivative of the casual/informal attire that we were wearing. The doorman security let us stand in the pouring rain for about a minute prior to opening the door. Moments before opening the door he proceeds to chuckle with his colleague and says to him out loud in Spanish "well these are our clients, right? haha" He might've assumed that we didn't hear them but they were very loud and as a bilingual native speaker I was well aware of the derogatory comment. Then while we are looking through the store selection they proceed to begin to follow us all around the store while the staff are texting and laughing while also clearly talking about us through their walkies. They made assumptions of what we were able to purchase/afford based on our appearance and this made us feel extremely uncomfortable, offended, and disrespected. As an LV portfolio holder, I'd expect much better treatment. I decided not to order a pair of sandals because the store was not deserving of the recording of the net sale and retailer commission that they'd be entitled for all purchases. These staff need to understand that this behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Scalpers is a menswear label founded in Seville, Spain. It's classic European menswear with a young vibe and slim cuts. A bit preppie but with a classic Spanish twist. Their look is supposed to be youthful "jet-set"; that classic, chic and slim European men's wear look that you see on 20-30 year olds walking around Salamanca in Madrid or at a cafe in Marbella. It looks more expensive than it is, and most of the clothing is made in Portugal. I used to love to shop at Scalpers in Madrid, Spain and was so happy to find a store in Mexico City in this beautiful mall near the museums. They were currently having a sale and the prices were absurdly cheap. I bought a beautiful blue classic 2 button "city suit" made in Portugal out of a silky soft Italian super 100 wool fabric with really good sharp tailoring and "hand tailored" looking stitching on the lapels for...get ready... $180 usd. It originally retailed for about $600 usd and was so cheap that I was shocked and kept thinking they made a mistake. It's literally as nice as a Zegna suit. They also offer tailoring but it takes a week. Nice stock of their great classic polo shirts, long sleeve button down shirts and sharp but relaxed tailored chinos. Good quality men's belts, shoes, and chic accessories like printed pocket squares. A lot of the items have their trademark skull and crossbones logo and it has gotten smaller over the years, which is nice. This used to be a super trendy label in Spain about a decade ago. I'm not sure how trendy it still is, but the quality is fantastic and I really like the service at this store. The salespeople were so nice. And if they have a sale, it's a great deal.

After a long night of partying and Mexican wrestling with my GF I stumbled on this store while exploring the colonia Santa Maria neighborhood. The owner of this store and brand is super nice and a great artist. They're a streetwear brand focusing on designs based on the artists paintings. They sometimes do collaborations with other artists from MX and other places around the world. They carry artist zines, pins, T-shirt's, jackets, hats, and hoodies. They also have a small selection of skateboards. The store is decorated with memorabilia from travels and art from other artists and the owner. The store is not very large since they mostly carry their own apparel, but they have something for everyone. If you're looking to own a piece of street culture from Mexico City, and don't want to see anymore artisanal stuff, this is the best place to get it.
