As they had an opening, I was almost immediately accepted into the private room. Facilities are clean, welcoming and efficient, albeit a bit small, but that is probably a plus. Quieting and comfortable. Dr Julie Duncan is very good, very professional and thorough. Open minded as well, to inquire and discuss anything. Very pleased. I would also mention the electronic system they used (MyChart) is quire convenient. Worked wonderful so far, and Dr Duncan is exceedingly efficient posting notes for me to check up the same day. I did, which turned out to be a mistake because of COVID. There's a sign telling everyone to walk to the main door. That's ok though; I could use a few more steps. Entering through the main door, a person in a booth nearby waved me over to ask me the standard questions about any symptoms and gave me a sticker. An 1 min thing. Anyway, the Imaging department is very straightforward - two ladies at the front to check in and insurance. And if the appointment is the recurring mammogram, I go no more than two doors inside - one to change, one for the imaging. It's super straight-forward and easy. Brownie points for the most recent appointment. I'm so used to having nothing to do due to COVID that I didn't look at my calendar and completely spaced out having an appointment. They just called, booked another appointment, no change fees. Yay! So thanks!

Granted, the office area may be a little lacking and a bit on the older side, but one goes to a physician based on how knowledgeable they are, whether they have the equipment required to make a knowledgeable assessment, and how interested they are in you as a person...not whether you're sitting in the latest and most expensive chairs and reading a wide variety of the latest magazines in the waiting room.

It is so much easier for me to navigate through the Kaiser system than locate independent providers through Regence Coverage. You call one number and are set up for all your medical needs. Their doctors, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, customer phone representatives and all support staff really seem to care about you and your health. This is problematic. I am the Director of H.R for a company of about 50 people working at the Port of Seattle. We recently changed health plans. Unfortunately, the "upgraded plan" available to executives is a Regence (Blue Cross/Blue Shield Plan). Ironically, I feel like that this "upgrade" isn't an upgrade at all. I LOVE KAISER and I am likely to go back whatever the cost after we renew in January of 2020. I have never experienced better care, more follow up, less wait- time and fewer additional fees than I have with Kaiser. I came in to meet Dr. Church (Redmond), because of a scheduling issue Dr. Church was SUPER thorough, knowledgeable, professional and considerate. After I left his office, Dr. Church researched how best to alleviate my menopause drama. He followed up with both me and my pharmacist and suggested I try a little different medication. Since I have started on my new meds, I am symptom-less!!

I love that there's a self check-in station, and I usually don't have to wait too long before being called. As far as the lab goes, I've consistently had poor experiences with long waiting time. The first time, I was the only one in line and waited over 20 minutes to give a urine sample. Last week, I came in the afternoon around 3 p.m. to give a urine sample, and a sign was over the kiosk saying that staff was on break and unavailable, so I was frustrated I drove out there and wasn't able to complete my lab (I had to leave). This morning (Friday at 8:30 a.m.) I waited over 40 minutes for my lab. If the wait times weren't as bad for the lab and service was continuous throughout the day, I would certainly provide a higher rating.

I got in to see the doctor pretty quickly once I arrived and we ended up doing an allergy test on my back. The nurse who helped me was super warm and helpful and I really appreciated her! They didn't get super conclusive results from the test and recommended I do a blood test. Their recommendations for me were just to take allergy meds, which I already do. I asked about shots and they just gave me a bunch of paperwork to do my own research when I wish they could have just educated me even a little bit in the office. Unfortunately this seems like one of the only options for allergy care in the area, so I might have to proceed anyways.

It doesn't take a genius to see if I was prescribed it again that those ailments would be managed. The first 30 of the 40 years I've been with Lakeshore Dr. Esser handled all of my issues related to my health. But now I'm supposed to see seven providers ? I am disabled.
