Kings Bridge, is a historic iron arch bridge opened in 1864, linking the city to the scenic Cataract Gorge. Our group walked that bridge, while admiring the Cataract Gorge at the short distance.
It was designed by William Doyne and fabricated in Manchester, England in 1863 and assembled on-site to span the South Esk River. It was originally a single lane before a duplicate span was added in 1904, utilizing locally fabricated parts. It remans a vital and historic link to the Trevallyn suburb and access to the Gorge walking tracks. read more
