So happy that Kingbob is located near my office! Kingbob has a lot of kimbap filling options, but my favorites will always be the tuna and tonkatsu. Kimbap is an intensive thing to make considering how many elements go into it, and yet Kingbob keeps their vegetables crisp, and all of the flavors balance well together. It's also fairly affordable considering everything else around the FiDi area is at least $15. Kingbob will always stay in my regular rotation of food spots around my workplace. Never have eaten inside, so I can't say much about the service. There is pretty ample seating, but don't come in with a large group expecting everyone to get seated all at once without some kind of workaround. Their kimbap is one of the best I've had in the city! I like how they overload on the filling, especially the veggies, and only have a thin layer of rice. I wasn't sure if it would so ordered a side of kimchi for $6.25 since they don't sell sides of radish (at least not on Doordash). The kimchi was a massive disappointment -- it was warm and soft rather than chilled and crunchy like it should be. The KFC though was delicious! It was so crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It certainly was heavy though, but the radish did a great job of cutting through the greasiness. I ordered the bulgogi kingbob which is a roll/10 pieces consisting of marinated Korean beef, pickled radish, burdock, carrot and cucumber. I was a bit worried if this would be enough for lunch but when I received my order, I was pleasantly surprised how big the rolls were! It also came with a side of spicy mayo which in my opinion is needed needed because the rolls were super flavorful already but it also did complement the rolls really well. The rolls were made to order so everything was super fresh. Definitely would recommend coming here if you're looking for a quick and filling meal that isn't too pricey. There's a handful of roll options and the price ranges from $7.5-$9, very affordable. I stopped at this counter service restaurant to grab a late lunch, as I was craving some Korean fried chicken. They have two flavors for their boneless fried chicken tenders. One was sticky and sweet garlicky sauce and the other a drier garlicky coating with cilantro dusted on it. The fairly large chunks of thigh meat were about the size of 1/3 to 1/2 of a boneless thigh. Very hard and crisp coating, even after it was sauced. It's always impressive to me that good KFC can stay crispy even after sauce is applied. Pretty reasonable pricing, I shared 12 wings with another person for about $18. 6 boneless chunks was filling for me. I would stop in here again when craving kfc.
