Two of came in for dinner on a Monday night dinner. There were no other customers, which is usually not a great sign, but the Yelp reviews were good enough for us to try. We ordered two egg rolls to start and a Spicy Beef Pho Bowl and a Pho Special Bowl. The egg rolls were good but nothing special. Both of the Pho bowls were excellent. We enjoyed them very much. I would come back here again but don't expect fine dining service. read more

A very satisfied customer and satisfied tummy :) read more

My wife and I have only eaten here once, but the experience was generally a good one. The food was very tasty, especially the peanut sauce. The serving sizes were average. The place was. The service was prompt and polite. My only complaint was that there could have been a little more care in the spring rolls, like perhaps some cilantro. But it was basically a rice paper wrapped around mostly iceberg lettuce and a couple of shrimp. It was tasty however just a tiny bit more care and I think it would have been outstanding. The meat in the pork sub was outstanding. And both the shrimp and pork subs we had were excellent. However once again just a tiny bit more attention to taste could raise the score a bit. I believe next time my wife and I will try their main dishes, and at that point I'll update this review read more

Came here once. Never again. Waitress was nice but owner unfriendly. Just staring and no hello and welcome and no goodness or enjoying greeting customers even tho I was right in her face. I ordered shrimp vermicelli noodles and all it had was days old and overcooked hard shrimp and cucumber slices, lettuce, and carrot slices and so little of it that o asked for a side of bean sprouts and basil leaves like my friend got with her beef pho. The owner charged me $2 for this by the way even tho my dish of $14.99 came with barely any veges. The picture shows the noodle dish with me after adding my request of sprouts and basil leaves. Otherwise it would be pretty bare bones. They gave me the sweet and sour sauce it comes with but too little so my noodles had no taste and I had to ask for more sauce. Then my girlfriends dish was the beef brisket pho and the picture is accurate to what it came like from the start...mostly broth and noodles and barely any meat. She didn't care for her basil and sprouts much so I added hers to my barebones shrimp noodle dish which is why mine looks a bit more colorful. She ordered 2 shrimp spring rolls and there was barely any shrimp and barely big enough to fill up on (2 for $6.99) and it came with a thick peanut sauce only even tho rolls taste good with both this and the sweet and sour sauce but she only got peanut sauce. So after chewing the hard shrimp that came to my dish cold, little sauce that I had to ask for more sauce, being charged $2 for some sprouts and basil to add to my measly noodle dish of old shrimp With cucumbers and lettuce and carrots, then tipping the waitress 15% to be nice, my meal or $18 was simply not worth it. To add to that the lack of warmth of the owner was off putting. I will find another Vietnamese place in Grand forks when I am desperate. Took me 6 months to try my first Vietnamese place and this is what I got so I am not expecting much from the other ones honestly. Better to just cook at home and buy frozen shrimp from Walmart and make the noodles and sauce myself and add veges. Note...as I mentioned, I had to ask for the basil and bean sprouts which they charged me $2 extra for which I have never been charged in my entire life of eating out for a quarter of a century in Europe and half the 50 United States at a Vietnamese place. read more

We absolutely love this place! It is very clean and refreshing, the staff makes you feel like family!! Their Pho is fabulous, I try to check out new ones, but really enjoy the basic. My boyfriend tries the steambuns last time and was a huge fan, we can never finish it and it heats up great! read more

Most unusual Vietnamese food I've ever had. We ordered a Pho. Normally pho is served with beans sprouts, basil, cilantro, lime and jalapeño that you can throw in. This only came with LETTUCE and basil. NO bean sprouts, or cilantro, or lime. The vermicelli also had lettuce in it. Only that one slice of carrot for decor. The vermicelli had no flavor. I added pretty much every sauce on the table to add something to its blandness. The pork was also very fatty. The place was clean, but I would NOT eat here again for Vietnamese food. read more

First day in town so I decided to stop here to grab my dinner for the day as it was a chilly day for this southerner. As I walked in the restaurant was empty and one of the waitresses I'm assuming was sleeping on the chairs. Which made me wonder what the heck have I walked into. I was skeptical at first but tired from the flight and then hour drive so i decided to just give it a chance. I would say I'm glad I did as the food was amazing great tasting food full of flavor. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for some good PHO. read more

For the only pho restaurant in Grand Forks ND! I must say this place is pretty authentic! The soup base doesn't seem to be filled with MSG so it was really good. I ordered the special pho which is a mixture of all the meats: well done brisket, meatball, tendon, flank, rare steak, etc... All of these are added in the soup with cilantro and onion. they don't come with bean sprouts but lettuce. However, i don't really mind that because the lettuce was better anyways. read more

I had the spicy beef pho and it was delicious. Just the right amount of heat. Service was spot on the waitress always made sure my drink was topped off and made sure I didn't need anything else. The ambiance was inviting and friendly. Restaurant was clean and tables and chairs were serviceable. Will dine here again. read more

Service was wonderful and fast. I had the spring roles and the Pho Special. Food was delicious!

Food quality was terrible. Herbs are supposed to be served with typical Pho they gave you pieces of cilantro and cuts of iceberg lettuce!! The broth was not cooked with flavor all I tasted was beef bouillon and msg. This is not typical pho flavor and a disappointment. The spring rolls were not good either. It's wrapped with 1 piece of shrimp cut in half l, filled with noodles and iceberg lettuce!! Horrible. read more

The pho was good. It had a sweeter taste than normal, but I like mine like this anyway. It was a good thing I always do a taste test before adding sugar. The service was great. As soon as I walked in, they were polite and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely be going back. read more

This restaurant has been recommended to me by several people so my expectations were high. I got pho with the brisket. The noodles were great and the meat was nice, but the soup was kind of greasy and the basil wasn't fresh (some leaves were black). I want to go back and try other dishes, but, so far, I'm not really impressed read more

Stop by here on the way back to Minnesota, had their pho and it actually tase good. Clean clear broth, a hint of sweetness but overall a good bowl of pho. Their special large is not very big but I is enough for lunch. Would stop by again next time I'm in town. Service was good. read more

Good news: KP is now accepting credit cards (min $15+)! Food is even better since the day they opened. It seems like they do read all the reviews and made few minor adjustments. Kudos. Bad news: They did increased the price (appox 10-20%). $12 for a special bowl of pho is a bit high but I can't complaint...I'm sure they had a valid reason.. read more

Coming from the West coast and growing up with Vietnamese food, King Pho was actually a pleasant experience! Our table ordered: - Pho well-done brisket - Pho meatball - Rice with grilled chicken - Rice with grilled pork The pho broth, noodles and vegetables smelled and tasted just like home! It was great! There could have been more brisket (+2.99 if you want extra) and was a little too chewy but I still enjoyed it. The others mentioned their food was pretty good as well. Overall, the quality met my expectations but the price could be debated for the portion size. I would still come back to try the other items, only wish they would transition into accepting cards rather than cash only! read more

The best pho in Grand Forks according to my parents. I opted for rice noodle w/tofu and it was delicious. They take cards now- prices still ok for quality and spice! I like that it's perfect for to go- esp if you're busy or just stopping for a while in town. read more

For the pho spot in town, this place is really good! I had spring rolls and beef pho, the special. The spring rolls were normal until I took my second bite and realized it was just noodles, lettuce and some shrimp in the rice wrap. I'm used to having cucumber and other vegetables present in my spring rolls, like basil/mint and carrots, and having so much of it be just noodles made dipping in the peanut sauce really messy. The beef special bowl had most of the meats in it, they did NOT skimp out on the meat, and the broth was delicious. I read another review saying the broth here is sweeter and I kindof agree but the takeaway is that it really hit the spot, and was so tasty that I was reluctant to spice it up! I'll be coming back, got more stuff to try. Inside is very spacious and clean, and really seems popular with the students in the area. Definitely worth checking out. read more

As a kid in high school one of my good friends parents used to make pho all the time and I would always find myself devouring it. I'm happy to say the pho I can get at this establishment is spot on to what I had growing up. Pure comfort food. The pho and the banh mi are both out of this world and would recommend a thousand times over. read more

I stopped in to try the Pho. I tried the Pho special and it was just ok. It just seemed like it was lacking a little flavor at least in the broth. There is a jar of chili paste on the table that can be added. I also tried the steak sandwich which I though was more enjoyable than the pho. Friendly staff and I was greeted as I walked in. There were several other tables full but the wait wasn't long for the food to arrive. This is Grand Forks only Pho place I think. read more

In town for a couple weeks and saw this recommended on Yelp, so I stopped on in. The location was a little random, but very clean and the service was impeccable. Ordered the Pho Special and it was pretty good - a little sweeter than other phos I've had, but good flavor! The chili sauce at the table was a good plus and added a good kick of flavor to the dish. It was good food and I'm happy I tried it, but I probably won't swing by again while I'm in town. read more

if I could give it less than one star, I would. First off, we got room temperature water second we ordered spring rolls, and all we got was rice and lettuce wrapped in a spring roll. That is all that was on the spring rolls. That is not a true spring roll. Third we get our food and it has no flavor. All it has is shredded lettuce from a bag and noodles topped on it. service was terrible. would not recommend. Will never go back ever. we could not even eat the food. It was so awful. thank goodness McDonald's is across the street. read more

I was skeptical of this place at first because I'm from the west coast and we're big on Pho. But this place is top notch!

At first when you see that there is no one in the restaurant you start to worry. Then the server comes out and greets you like you are royalty. I had the spring rolls and they were clearly freshly made. This made my day. Then I ordered the special Pho. Wow the soup was amazingly flavorful. You can taste the onions and the nicely cooked tender meat. I'm really impressed. Grand Forks you did amazing. read more

Lowest review I've given out thus far. Really not a fan for a couple of reasons. Yes, it is the "best" option in Grand Forks because it s the only option. Viet Palace in Fargo is MUCH better though. Couple of issues with the pho (I haven't had anything else). It is relatively not salty, but I actually find the broth to be quite sweet. I also found the onions to be problematic (what's up with Vidalia onions in pho?), as they were too sweet and the slices were much too big to eat well. I'm a big onion fan too, so I found this especially disappointing. The noodles themselves were fine and the meat wasn't bad, although I've had much better elsewhere. Prices are also rather high for what you get. read more

We read about this place in a local magazine while visiting from the west coast. Dude, the pho broth is super flavorful!!! Lots of tasty noodles and rare beef slices, too. This is definitely a place worth trying while you're in town. As someone who eats pho all over the place in legit restaurants, I'd put this in the top 1% for sure! Sweet server, refreshing iced tea and massive spring rolls as well. read more

I've only had pho at one other place so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I thought it was delicious. The spring rolls were also really good. The service was fast and friendly. I didn't have the highest of expectations of this place, but I will definitely be back. read more

Great pho' out here in middle of nowhere. Definitely competes with big city places. I love in Oklahoma City where we have a large Vietnamese community and excellent pho can be had throughout our city. King Pho is. Strong competitor! Right amount of seasonings, broth obviously made at the store. It's a bit more expensive than I'm used to but well worth it. read more

Just ate lunch there today. Not busy. Read previous reviews and thought oh this looks promising. Looked at their spring roll picture and thought maybe these ones are good. I order the same pho everywhere. I order spring rolls everywhere to see if they come close to my favorite in Orlando (Little Saigon off of 50 if you're interested). I've probably eaten it in at least fifty different restaurants all over the US. OK, so the spring roll has lettuce in it... Why does everyone up here stuff them full of lettuce??? ‍ grrrr. I asked that it not have lettuce. It was fresh made. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, plenty of noodles but the rice paper was like rubber. I had to bite and pull every single bite. They also looked nothing like the picture in the menu or online especially the peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was meh. The consistency was like a babies diaper that had #2 in it... but had ok flavor, not the worst. Needs to be runnier. Now let's get to the pho. Pho is pho is pho is pho. Broth, shrimp, fresh veggies. Pretty hard to screw that up, however it was screwed up epically. Believe me when I say I have never ever had a problem with shrimp pho. Broth is either meh or really good but doesn't ever ruin the dish for me. My first bite included a little bit of everything I just don't put the jalapeno peppers in. When I took a bite of the shrimp which I was so pleased did not have the tails on but I think I know why now. I had to spit it out. It tasted bad like rotten bad. Not just overcooked bad...rotten bad. I proceeded to pull all of the shrimp out which is the most I've ever gotten in a pho. Again I think I know why they put so much shrimp in. Because it was bad and they wanted to get rid of it. It's Saturday mind you and the shrimp on the spring roll was perfect. These shrimp were overcooked tough and tasted rotten. You would think one of the employees who walked by me and seen all the shrimp on my plate would ask if everything was okay. But then I remember they don't really care in these establishments if things are okay or if you're happy with the service or the food. The majority, not all. Vietnamese restaurants specifically. I love love Vietnamese food because it's so fresh and healthy. Did you hear me? Fresh! So I went to go pay my bill and I told them about the shrimp. Two employees were standing there. Let them know that the shrimp was bad like rotten bad. I even whispered it so they could handle it appropriately and no other guests had to be alerted. I was very respectful and kind. They gave me a puzzled look and told me the total was $24. That same meal would've been $15.00 in other places I've been to Could have knocked off a little for that shrimp that was left on the plate that was bad. I didn't leave a tip and it was my server who checked me out. So I promised myself that I would come here and make sure all of you were aware that this may not be the place to go if you actually want fresh Vietnamese food. And really, save your money. $15 for shrimp pho without the shrimp cuz nobody in the right mind would have eaten that. I've had food poisoning before. Never again! I'm thinking that the other guests who are eating at another table next to me knew this already. They brought Burger King to the restaurant. Y'all need to do better! read more

If you're in the Grand Forks area and want the best pho noodle bowl ever, you have to stop in at King Pho! The food is Pho King delicious.

Staff was behind the counter and you are supposed to seat yourself. I was passing through town and am not a regular. I waited by the front to be seated. Stood there for a few minutes before Staff walked up to me and said to sit anywhere. We ordered special pho, tofu fried rice and tofu vermicelli bowl. Waiter made a comment "that's a-lot of tofu!", so I felt I had to explained that my husband is vegetarian. Just made it an uncomfortable moment for me. Made me wonder if people who order all pork or meat dishes get the same question. Pho came out hot and broth was flavorful enough but on the sweeter side. Food was very good, however service can improve. read more

Walking into this little sized cafe style restaurant, I didn't have high expectations. The restaurant is very simple to the eye. White walls, tables, chairs......pretty plain. But plain the is definitely not the word I would use to describe the food!!! I was completely shocked and awed!! I order the egg rolls, which were very good, light and not greasy with a superb crunch. The absolute show stopper was the spicy beef pho that I ordered. The broth was so beyond flavorful, it was burst of absolute happiness on my tastebuds. The fixings and embellishments that come with the pho are an extra bonus. You are able to tailor your soup to you own likings with just a few or a lot of ingredients provided on the side. And as always, the plus was that I was able to bring home leftovers, a lot of leftovers. Will definitely be returning again to this wonderful restaurant. read more
