Needed a quick lunch. Ate at Pergola the other week and noticed that the nice-looking little restaurant next door - that I'd never been to - had gone, replaced by a burger bar
So tried it today....easy menu, waiter taking order at counter, pleasant and helpful...rest of the staff also seemed friendly and were busy, with customers (even though it was late on), the food, clearing away, and generally seemed a happy bunch. That's always a good start. They had even run out of ketchup (yuk), they had been so busy earlier
Anyway chose the Standard Michelin with large chips...€11.50. And asked for a well-done burger. Followers will know that it is one of my bugbears...bien cuit in France is likely to mean somewhere between still mooing and rare on a good day - anything more is a triumph of will over the chef
But no - it was well done, it was a good size, the mustard sauce was good and the chips very nice too
Congratulations all round - will definitely return read more
