Just walk into any toy department and it feel like all your senses are under attack. From the garish colors and cheap materials to the god-awful sounds that these things emit, you wonder what evil spirit possessed the people who designed them. That's why places like Si Tu Veux should be classified as national living treasures because the survival of the human race depends on them! This oasis of kid calm is aptly located in the chic Passage Vivienne next to other classy shops. The selection here is pitch perfect. Every item seems to have been selected with careful thought and consideration by the owner, a lovely woman who will, if you ask, tell you what kind of toy would be most appropriate for your child given his or her age. With my little one in tow, she selected a few toys for him to try out and we all agreed on this amazing DNA-strand-like construct made out of colored wood and bouncy string that my baby immediately gobbled up and slathered his approval onto. Not only is it super to look at, it's also one of his favorite toys. And I've never seen it anywhere else so the owner must have chosen it from some obscure manufacturer (or at least that's what I told myself to justify its slightly elevated price).

The clerk told us not for babies but our girl is very very petit and old enough for such a thing. They have waldorf animals as well and I wish I had purchased a fox there. I think I spent half an hour looking at all the amazing Little Prince items. This little shop has books, journals, bookmarks, mugs, dishes, scarves, shirts, postcards, stuffed animals, bags, toys, figurines, cards, pictures, baby bibs, cookie cutters, key chains, onesies... Anything and everything Little Prince! The owner is super friendly and very nice to talk to. The music is calming, the shop is orderly and well stocked. This was the best store I've visited my whole trip in Europe! Next time I'm in Paris, I'll visit again for sure! I can't recommend this lovely little store highly enough- just visit you'll be so glad you did!

If from the US and looking for something for the kids, while this store is full of toys-- it's mostly items that can be found (or are made) in the states. Melissa & Doug and brands of that nature. I was in a pinch needing something for my young boys and did find some pop guns and figurines (that tip over when touched and pop back) for a decent price and they seemed 'French' enough to satisfy me, and hopefully them. Cute store, shop owner was so sweet to us and lots of fun/easy/small things to stow in your luggage for the littles.

Although there were many toys one can find in the states, there were several gems as well, like charming and unique music boxes. What can be more French than a miniature carrousel that plays Ma Vie En Rose? We also found some wooden tops that were different from any we had seen before. The owner was very friendly as well and spoke English. There is also a small room in the back of the store where there are puppets galore.
