I've become a little bit of an obsessed regular of Kimchee Korean, but when the food is this delicious, how could I not be?? I've had my eye on their whole fried chicken since seeing a picture of it on Yelp and a video of the audible crunch. The chicken was heavenly. Light yet full of flavor. The skin has such a beautiful crunch and texture to it. Shoutout to Kiersten and the whole team at Kimchee Korean! They're always so friendly and take so much pride in their restaurant. I love recommending Kimchee Korean to folks!

Finally gave this place a try. First off, this place is located in a plaza with plenty of parking and are next or close to other amazing spots like Trader Joe's. The place itself is pretty clean, spacious and organized. The servers were super friendly and accommodating. Got their army stew and boneless korean fried chicken. The army stew was a little too hot for me but it was good. The broth, noodles, sausage, rice cakes, and kimchi complemented well with each other. Their boneless chicken was so crispy on the outside and juicy on the outside. The sauce that it came with looked like a condensed milk but it was really good. It was our first time but definitely not the last time. Highly recommend this place!

Pretty large restaurant. Smells amazing. Cannot wait to try

Recently opened spot by a Korean family. The mom cooks everything fresh daily and came out to say hi to us. Food was definitely made with love including the bonchan. We enjoy all of it and it wasn't too expensive. Kalbi was very tender Soft tofu stew mild with seafood was tasty Ramen beef was slightly salty with more chewy beef but my daughter loved the ramen noodles Bulgogi bibimbap really good. Also got an extra purple rice for free. Peach soju also delicious. Overall excellent service and a good meal

The place has a nice atmosphere. I thought the menu was a little short, not a lot of options. I ordered the spicy chicken ramen with added tofu and garlic.. It wasn't too spicy. The broth was alright. I had to add some soy sauce and kimchi to give it an extra boost. The kimchi is VERY good. I'm picky with my kimchi. I hate when you can tell the kimchi hasn't been fermenting long and the flavor isn't fully saturated into the cabbage. This place... chef kiss to kimchi! I got the yangnyeum mand u (spicy pork dumplings). I wasn't expecting it to be sweet. I was hoping for more salty and spicy. But they were still good. The added sides were all seasoned very well.

Heard good things about this place and finally got to try it out. Friendly staff and cute little place with comfy leather chairs and plenty of tables. We ordered the dumplings and the army stew and they were delicious. The dumplings were flavorful and soft, pretty much melts in your mouth. The army stew is made in house and is probably one of the best I've ever had. It comes with cheese, noodles, spam, sausage, rice cake, and rice on the side. Unfortunately they were all sold out of gimbap already by 2pm so we weren't able to try those. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu and get a nice warm pot of army stew!!!

Been craving Korean food and this place hit the spot! The food was beyond delicious and enough to feed us both, and then some.... And the service? Geez! We felt like we were family walking in to mom's kitchen (Happy belated birthday to her, btw). Mom came out and greeted everyone, checked how the food was, and interacted with every single person at every table. I immediately told my friend's and family we were coming here when they come to town.

Delicious tofu soup & crispy Korean pancakes! The complimentary boricha felt like halmeoni's warm, comforting hug in a cup.

Food was pretty decent. Really wishing they had an array of bangchan. The purple rice smelled delicious and was really good. The flavors were there but not strong like other Korean dishes I've tried. The fried chicken was fatty in the middle. I'm not impressed. Portions are okay. Service is okay. In all honesty, don't think I'd ever come back.

My wife and I just went here for the first time and we were blown away both by the hospitality and the food. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful, and you can tell it's made with care. The side dishes are a 10/10!!! crisp, fresh, and absolutely delicious!! The ambience is also lovely. We also learned the restaurant is family-owned by a mom, dad, and daughter, which makes it even more special. They were all so kind and welcoming, it truly felt like eating at someone's home :) The food quality is excellent! clean, fresh, and authentic. I especially love that they serve purple rice at no extra cost... it's such a nice, healthy touch! The whole experience was perfect and we can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes. Great food. Great people. Great quality. Bakersfield is lucky to have this gem! Can't wait to be back

So excited to see more Korean restaurants open in town how lucky are we?! The service was phenomenal even when it was a full house! They were super busy and still managed to be super attentive. She let us know that the hot sauce is her mom's recipe and 10/10 no notes it was the best sauce I've ever tasted. The rice was my favorite it was so flavorful. Inside was nicely decorated and cozy feel inside. So happy to see how busy it was and I hope it continues to stay busy!

I had been reading rave reviews about this cozy and clean family-run restaurant and my own experience did not disappoint. My husband and son each ordered the chicken stew, even though one dish was sufficient for two. But they each made sizeable dents in their own dishes before packing the leftovers. I ordered the spicy tofu and seafood soup. It was good, just needed a pinch of salt. As did the purple rice. The banchan assortment was delicious, very fresh! Kudos to the daughter for putting up with my husband's jokes all night; she was so polite and professional. The menu is small but splendid. I do wish there were dessert options.

My friend and I have been here every week now for 3 weeks. We order the same thing every time. It is so good. The owner is so nice and i love the environment and how comfortable and cozy it is. I always get the army stew hotpot and i just feel so good and happy when eating it. My friend ordered the spicy soft tofu soup with beef. Although both times we've gone, they didnt have chicken so we'll have to do a re-review for when it's in stock again. We also ordered and shared the rose tteokbokki and that was .. so so SO delicious. Highly recommend!

Today's find in Bakersfield brought me to this spot. It's a nice little sit down place. I was given water and asked if I wanted something else to drink. I ordered a diet Dr. Pepper but was brought a regular one, no problem as I drink both. I wanted Chicken Ramen but the waitress informed me they had no chicken, so I ordered the mild spicy beef ramen. The service was ok, but for one person it was busy, as others looked annoyed. The place was nicely decorated and I would come again to try something new.

The bibimbap rice also had very little flavor and did not get very crispy on the hot stone. The star of the show was definitely the veggie pancake - super crispy and flavorful even without egg. We loved the sauce that it came with! The server was super nice and made sure to separate the vegan banchan from the non-vegan banchan. She was also very attentive and double checked with the chef to make sure all our dishes were vegan.

I hate to give this update but there needs to be better management and supervision. We came in…read morearound 430 in the afternoon & more than half the restaurant was vacant but the staff all seemed to be "on break" with numerous tables waiting to be bussed! The food is always 5 star, once you can get it & order... also super slow if you need anything after the initial order. The bathroom ceiling is about to cave in due to leaks, stains on the walls & the view of the kitchen was super messy, dirty floors! Please do better!! Our family loves KBBQ & try to support this establishment but it is difficult in these conditions. There is more business to be had with better staffing and attention to details To be honest there are more workers today than other times I have seen yet they have more empty tables than full ones. It's a bad use of the overhead when they have empty tables but are making people wait 30 minutes or more to be seated. While it seems like there is only 1 server, the 3-4 other people are Moving slowly for whatever their job responsibilities are. Oh another thing, how can a Korean BBQ be out of "rice paper" which has been the case the last few times we are here... the ban chan could use an upgrade as well

It was not it... although, I might be to blame because maybe I didn't know how it's supposed to be seasoned with the salt and sides. Also, a little overpriced for not being AYCE.
