The customer service from the owner, Mr. McKenzie, was atrocious. If I could mark this as 0 stars I…read morewould. My wife and I were shopping around for a bedroom set and happened to find a set that we liked from another store as well but with different prices. I inquired with the owner about their price matching policy since I found the set elsewhere for a lower price. He INSISTED that I was wrong and that he has the lowest prices available but made no gesture as to what his policy was. I brushed this aside and decided to call the other company (away from the other customers) to verify that I wasn't mistaken. After getting off the phone the price was indeed higher at the other store so I was prepared to purchase the bedroom set from McKenzie. Shortly after the call he pulled us aside and said that he didn't appreciate me making the phone call in front of his other customers (the closest one being 10 yards away and I was fairly quiet) and that he had the lowest prices around and that I didn't know what I was talking about. My wife and I looked at each other and told the owner that we would be taking our business elsewhere. We went back to the other store ready to pay more for the bedroom set only to find out I was correct and that they had a cheaper price. At McKenzie's, I was ready to unknowingly pay $300 more for the set, but because of his atrocious customer service he lost out on an almost $3000 purchase. I have never in my life had someone that insisted that I, as a customer, was rude and that I didn't know what I was talking about. I will never shop at McKenzie Furniture because of how the owner acted and I will advocate to anyone I know looking for furniture to avoid shopping at this place.

Ollie's is a great addition to Camden. they have a lot of good name brand items that are close outs or overstock, and a lot of cheap things. if you need a large, inexpensive rug, this is your place. a huge assortment of rugs and carpet ends at great prices. Kitchen, bath, and cooking items, you'll find a big assortment. The staff is nice, friendly, and helpful. they have a great assortment of books at reasonable prices. it's best to walk all the isles because you never know what you will find, especially that item that you loved a year or two ago that you could never find again, it might just be there. My daughter went to find gag gifts and Christmas stocking stuffers and came away with an Olaf (from Frozen) Bop It. It turned out to be the most popular gift among everyone, those participating and those watching and dying of laughter. we went a couple of days after Christmas and searched the place, not a single one anywhere, even looking through the heaps of mixed toys left by customers in a jumble. so disappointed. we went back a couple of days later and filled the buggy (basket or cart if you aren't from the South) and decided to look again. in a big heap, Olaf was found! Only one and we'll hidden. Okay, a 73 year old great grandma has to have some toys, it's allowed. I play almost every day!

Visited this thrift store for their big annual discount sale. The back half of the store (old…read morewarehouse) reeks of cigarette smoke. It was impossible to determine if the smell was coming from something inside the large room (i.e., furniture, rugs, items, etc.) or if that was just the way it always smelled. They keep the children's toys and items in this part of the store, among many other things. I've had severe asthma my whole life, so even just being in that room was enough to make me start coughing. They have so much of their own decor that it can be confusing when trying to figure out what is actually for sale and what belongs to the store. Additionally, the store does not individually price a large amount of items (which are clearly for sale!) which is very frustrating (some areas have signs w/prices, others do not). Items that have been priced, vary greatly. For example, a very cheap purse might be listed at $20+ while a name brand purse is listed at $8. They have a section of designer/name brand items that is also marked up significantly. It would make sense if their prices were a fraction of what the item cost brand-new, but they're out here charging $35+ for very used leggings! And they weren't even Lululemon! The cashier was disengaged and barely acknowledged shoppers, despite the long line. It takes .10 seconds to make eye contact and greet a person. There are so many better, more reasonably priced stores in the area, so this is a no for me.

I called the store back within a hour of the purchase to see what we could do. The store wouldn't even give store credit and take it back to let some else buy it that it would work for. Tough to lose a brand new customer over $6 even with the return of the item still pristine. I'm sure I would have spent more money in the return as my wife wanted to go back to purchase a curtain rod and curtain for our guest room.
