Bricks and Stone Supply

Bricks and Stone Supply

I own a large dairy barn first built in 1840. In 2016 I decided to add cultured stone over a large…read moreconcrete block addition that had been added about 1965. Wanting to give that newer addition an old appearance I began researching cultured stone. In so doing I discovered Brick and Stone Supply with a branch location in Olyphant, Pa about 45 minutes from my farm. I first applied for a 30 day credit account since I had calculated that this project alone would require my purchasing $8000 worth of stone, plus several sheets of wire lathe and many bags of mortar. I am well retired having started and eventually sold 7 business over a 35 year business career. They turned me down giving me as reasons that I was unable to provide them with masonry related trade references. My credit rating is above 800. I had no choice but to buy stone from them but had to pay immediately upon receipt. Ridiculous!! But that was just the beginning. This business is the only business I've ever dealt with over a 3 year period where the customer service is unfailingly miserable. No courtesy, no smile, no thanks for your business, no impression that my business is valued ( or the business of other customers I spoke with). From top to bottom, inside and out, this business is terrible to its customers. I have to defend some of the employees in this review with this excuse: when asked why everyone was so miserable and unhappy he replied to me that " they have an owner who seldom, if ever, has come to this Olyphant location. He has other interests and businesses and couldn't care less about Olyphant". Sad, very sad. If this business had just a bit of competition ( if younger I'd buy it myself) I would have gone elsewhere. I'd suggest you do the same.

Above all else Rustic River will work to make sure you are happy with the final product whether it be a new driveway, custom cabinetry, a new build or a remodel. Although we can skillfully handle any aspect of the residential construction industry I have a passion for concrete/masonry work and carpentry. I love doing anything with concrete, driveways, sidewalks, foundations, really like doing stamped concrete, epoxy floor coatings, concrete countertops and the same goes for carpentry. We love to build decks, framing projects, we even do custom woodworking such as outdoor furniture, planter boxes, interior furniture like tables, shelves, cabinetry or anything your imagination can dream up using wood. If you can dream it we can build it! And we of course can’t forget about composite decking! While not a wood material the framing is still done with wood but the benefits of composite over pressure treated are amazing. No maintenance, no staining or painting every couple years, no warping or rotting and the composite material available today has a beautiful, timeless modern look. Any project you have in your mind let us help you bring it to life, big or small new builds or repairs we can handle it. There’s an often forgotten line to the quote, “A jack of all trades master of none”. That line, “Is oftentimes better than a master of one”.
