I found Leonie on an internet search and I'm so glad I took the plunge to hire her, without any personal recommendations. She painted 10 kids for my daughter's 5th bday party at our home in Marin, and was so professional, calm, and focused. She prioritized the children and let me entertain the adults without asking questions or needing direction. I showed her to the front porch and she quickly determined the spot was perfect to set up. From there, she worked tirelessly for 2.5 hours painting all the kid's faces, and then painting all the kid's hands. She did not stop and the requests did not stop coming. What I adore about this experience over bouncy houses or slip and slides is that the parents and kids can come and go as they please, without injury and heightened emotions from exerting energy on a trampoline or bounce house The kids LOVED waiting in line because they got to watch Leonie do her magic. Leonie was amazing for my daughters 4th birthday. We had about 30 kids and plenty of adults that had their face and arms painted and glitter tattooed. She was such a hit, that mid-party my daughter washed her face to get a second face painting. Leonie was very flexible as we asked her to stay longer since many adults wanted to enjoy the fun. Leonie will be invited to help with my kids birthdays as long as they will let me have facepainting for their parties. She showed up on time. (big deal for me). She was happy, courteous and professional. She is prepared to start right away. She even set up with her own table. I didnt have to worry about her while I was dealing with the last minute things for the party. She did efficient, fun and beautiful work on adults and kids. All of my guests were asking where I found her. She had jewels for the girls which was a surprise and great addition to there princess/fairy/flower designs. Leonie was as amazing and as professional as everyone describes her to be. She painted nearly 25 children's faces (maybe more) in an hour and a half... each child had a unique and beautiful design (my favorite was a hello kitty with a gold glitter nose that she did on a little red headed girl -- absolutely stunning). Children were literally mesmerized watching her paint the other kids' faces. She was the highlight of our party and many parents took her card, or asked me how I had found her. What struck me the most about Leonie is how sophisticated and artistic she was -- exactly the type of person you are happy to have at your children's birthday party. I emailed Leonie about my daughter's birthday party after witnessing her fabulous face painting at another birthday party. She emailed back right away, letting me know that she was available for my daughter's party. She arrived a bit early so that she would be ready to start painting at the agreed upon time. Everyone loved her work and many moms had their faces painted when the kids moved on to another activity. Leonie works very quickly (so no long waits for the little ones) which seems impossible given how beautiful and detailed her work is. She was available to stay longer and we gladly paid her to do so. One more plus.....the face paint she uses is great! It doesn't smear so no disappointed children at the party and no frustrated mom trying to get the paint out of clothes or sheets later. It is easily removable with a wipe though. Can't wait to have another party (maybe just for adults!) and hire Leonie again! read more

I found Leonie while searching online in preparation for my daughter's 5th birthday party. Leonie was local, and received such wonderful reviews that I thought I'd hire her. What 5 year old girl doesn't want a sparkly butterfly on her face? Anyway, I can say from the moment I first emailed her for her availability until she left the party, Leonie was completely professional, warm and friendly. We had several small children and very shy children at the party, but Leonie was so warm and gentle, even the shyest of them were not afraid to get their face painted. She was absolutely wonderful. The parents of my daughter's friends also commented on how wonderful she was, and how talented she was. The designs she created for the children were very professional. It may be possible to be as good as Leonie, but I would bet that nobody is better than she is. OK, enough gushing. If you want a fantastic face-painter who is wonderful with all kids, you will be as happy as I am that I hired her and happy with the whole experience. I may be hiring her again in the future as I have two daughters. read more
